It's ridiculous because people who truly follow the dress code get teased. I don't understand how a knee length skirt is bad and a skirt that doesn't follow is good .

It’s not bad. It’s just hideous 😅 The handbook says 4inches above the knee is ok. From what I’ve seen some girls push the limit with that but nothing distasteful.

We started today and you’re right, it’s looks more daunting than it actually is. Math was a breeze, physics were going to have to do a bit of work on.. but I’m glad we have a chance to already see where she needs a little extra reinforcement from what she’s already flushed from her brain from this past year lol

Majority of girls where it higher than 4 inches.

Why on earth would they want to know this about SR? It’s not going to have a huge international contingent. I’d be surprised if there were more than a handful of girls from anywhere other than the U.S., if that.

Are there grade specific whatsapp group chats? Specifically for 9th. Id love to be able to connect with other parents over the summer and during the year. Hoping there's one for students too. Seems like there are tons of ways to get involved. We can't wait!

DD wants to try out for sports. I know the girls at this school are born playing Lacrosse so that will be tough to get in on without ever having played. How do sports tryouts work?

Is JV for everyone not good enough for Varsity and more recreational?
Or is it possible that she’ll try out and not make either JV or Varsity?

She really wants to try Volleyball. Never played before but she’s very tall, just not super athletic.

It'll be hard to find the answer since it isn't an international school but my guess is that the nationality is probably at least 90% American, and the other 10 is most likely dual citizens. I don't know how many don't have American passports but my guess is <1.

Have been wondering this since the early days of this thread. No one will care enough to answer and just say "ask your mentor family" which I have done and they didn't know. Would love a place for me to connect with parents from the grade or a place for my daughter to connect with girls before school starts.

I think the JV teams are still serious and have good players as they practice 5 days a week. So I think she will need to be a bit experienced. But she should still tryout
