With news that deportation raids will start on Tuesday and the distraction that is the TikTok ban, it feels like we’re just passively moving into oligarchy. Where are the pussyhats of 2017? So many people voted for Turnip because they feared America sliding into oligarchy under the Democrats. And they were sort of right given the close relationship between the Democrats, the Biden Administration, faceless fact-checking "experts" (who were very often wrong) and big tech (remember how quickly censorship of dissenting and unpopular views over Hunter Biden, Covid, etc happened in 2020, 2021, 2022 etc? Now that is oligarchy for you. Nothing like the censorship and 50 intelligence officials declaring the Biden laptop Russian misinformation ever happened under a Republican president, let alone Trump.

Despite the Democrats trying to make tech bros the latest red herring (likely out of a sense of betrayal), the party still vastly outraises the Reps in donations from millionaires and billionaires, while the Republicans have become the party of the working and lower/middle classes. It's fascinating.

I don't fear Turnip. So far he seems to be doing ok. My biggest criticism of him (this time around) is that he hasn't gone out to visit the wildfire sites yet, but maybe he will as soon as he's safely inaugurated.

DP. I agree with your post, but Biden hasn't even visited the wildfire sites.

Yes that’s what they need right now is to pull local police from fire related work to work on Presidential security.

Seriously this just proves they can not think further than what FOX feeds them. Biden knows he'd be a distraction and take away from resources. You MAGA are laughable

Posters were responding to the bolded - that Trump should have gone out to visit the wildfires. As if THAT wouldn't have been a distraction?? Not to mention, he's not even the president yet. And you're so clueless you're calling others "laughable"? Get a clue.
DP

Trump doesn’t GAF and can’t manage a crisis. Why would he go? He’s utterly useless.

Trump isn’t even in office yet and yall are mad he isn’t in California?!

No, not at all. He’s useless. What good would come from him going and talking about himself?

America will once again be that shining city atop the hill.

And we'll thankfully be one day closer to Trump being out of our lives forever. You can't stop a ticking clock, and his act is coming to an end.

OK. Keep telling yourself that. 😂

Tell myself what? That time doesn't stop? Today's the beginning of the end. Four years will pass, and there's no third act coming. MAGA will need to find another cult hero.

Trump’s influence on American politics is here to stay, and I am glad for it. Democrats need to find a better way to react other than DEI and Hitler-calling and lawfare or they will grow even less palatable to American voters outside of the few bubbles of elites on the coasts. I hope they do because our country needs it.

Sure, Democrats need to reboot their messaging. But Trump is done four years from today (advanced age issues aside). Today is the last day he'll be inaugurated (and he's choosing to do it on a tiny stage). Time goes by (too) quickly.

So naive to think Trump won’t have a successful presidency. He would have been reelected last time if not for the pandemic which I don’t think any president could have survived politically. And Vance is waiting in the wings to run against a seriously weakened Democratic Party.

He's not going to have a successful Presidency. He's not going to lower prices, raise wages, etc. He's not even interested in those topics anymore. And Vance isn't Trump any way. Trump is permanently out of our lives in four short years.

You are going to be so sad in 2028 with how wrong you are.

Are you trying to threaten us with the possibility of trumps competency? Or are you saying that he’s going to try to stay in office?

If it’s the former, lol. I’d believe the second, because why wouldn’t I believe that people dumb enough to vote for him a second time wouldn’t support it?

You probably never saw Trump’s re election coming either, much less his winning both popular and electoral votes, certain everyone agreed with you that he is a FELON and INSURRECTIONIST. You were wrong then and you’re wrong now.

Trump isn’t even at 50.0% with the popular vote.

And you can’t change history. He is a felon and incited an insurrection.

I stopped watching the news. I will only read the news for the next four years. It helps quite a bit OP.

"Exploding trees!" "They didn't rake the forests" (ignoring the fact that it would cost billions to rake the forests).
Dementia-brain Trump has nothing coherent to offer.

That the 2028 will automatically go to the democrats because Trump’s term will be unsuccessful.

I agree. I can't stand to look at trump or hear his voice. I am terrified of him making up an emergency and declaring martial law and in mid 2026 calling off bi-election saying he has evidence of massive voter fraud. The Republicans in the House and Senate will do nothing to stop him.

God, how I hope that I am wrong.

Have you considered medication and therapy?

Np. Neither will change this horrible situation.

If Trump is “useless” and “unpopular,” democrats must be even more useless and unpopular, because he beat them handily.
