Yes but Vance will have very little chance of winning the 2028 election.

Why? He’s a marine who served in Iraq, Yale Law School grad who knows how to win a debate - ask Tim Walz about this - and he’s Trump’s chosen successor. But it comes down to whether Trump can deliver on his promises over the next four years.

He cannot. Prices will be hire. Jobs will be worse. There is not much he can do to turn that around, and things he can do to make it worse. The pendulum swings back the other way in 2028.

He has already said he can't deliver on many of his promises. He'll blame Biden.

Not sure. I thought there would have been more outrage from women over some of his statements but I see many women just fall inline.

Vance is the VP of a very unpopular president and as such, his political career is likely over after Trump's second term. Mondale, Pence, Harris are examples of VPs that had their careers suffocated by their unpopular bosses.

Trump unpopular? You need to get outside of the beltway more often. Right now he is flying. It could change very quickly of course, but at this point he has all the momentum.

He will crash and burn, just like the last time.

Vance may otherwise have been a viable future POTUS candidate but he will now forever be associated with a very unpopular POTUS. He has as much chance of becoming POTUS one day as Harris and Pence do. Ain't happening.

Are you a republican? I’ve only ever seen democrats posting about sneaky ways to maintain power via such machinations.

Republicans have actual primaries and get to vote. The RNC didn’t want Trump, but republicans did. They voted for him. He won, he wasn’t chosen. That’s how democrats get their candidates; chosen by their party elite.

With news that deportation raids will start on Tuesday and the distraction that is the TikTok ban, it feels like we’re just passively moving into oligarchy. Where are the pussyhats of 2017? People are and have been protesting in various ways. This forum is maga heavy so hope you can find your peeps elsewhere. People actually voted for a convicted felon and J6ist!!!! rip our great US of A.

The difference this time is that people are not going to expend energy expressing their dismay.

Trump won. Trump made a lot of promises to get votes.

Trump will need to focus on basic POTUS responsibilities. He needs to balance the budget. Provide Americans with an health care plan that is superior to Obamacare. He needs to resolve the unrest in the Middle East and bring Russia’s invasion of
Ukraine to an end. He needs to lower grocery prices and half energy prices. He needs to turn China into a fair trading partner. And much more.

All of us need to hold him accountable for those promises.

Trump and the Republicans in Congress have no intention of delivering on any of those promises. Only fools believed they could or would.

America will once again be that shining city atop the hill.

+1. Looking like the dawn of a beautiful new day, this morning!

Woke up feeling like a little kid on Christmas morning.

Really? That's pretty lame if true.

Corresponds exactly to the postings here full of gloom and despair post-election. As always, everything depends on one's perspective.

I guess...but if you feel like a little kid on Christmas morning, I mean that's just comes across as corny as hell.

Did you even read the posts before Election Day? You guys were giddy over Kamala, making up silly terms like “Kamalamentum,” swooning over that ridiculous Selzer poll, and obsessively using the word “weird” as many times as possible in reference to the GOP candidates. Not to mention all the inane and cringey platitudes about “joy” and “Brat.”

Face it- Trump supporters are happy. Kamala supporters are not. Stop being hypocrites when you guys literally did the exact same thing. It just reeks of sour grapes.

His approval rating is below 50%...so yeah, unpopular. You need to get outside the MAGA echo chamber.

Corny is corny. I voted for Biden but I wasn't like a little kid on Christmas morning on Inauguration. It was just another day. Your life isn't going to be different today from what it was yesterday.

Trump is no more "popular" now than when he took office in 2017 and less popular than Biden was when Biden took office in 2021. Both Trump and Biden saw their approval ratings tank quickly after taking office and then those ratings hovered around 40% for the remainder of their terms. No reason to believe an older and more unfit Trump will be more popular during his second term.

He pretty much admitted at his little rally that musk is a genius who stole and bought votes for him....it's kind of like how he said he could like someone in the middle of 5th ave and get away with it. he believes he's an untouchable.
