The Supreme Court ruling states:

“effectively legalizes bribery for state and local officials, so long as they receive the cash or gifts after taking the official act that the briber wants.”

The timeline will play an important part here. Perhaps the residency allegations is what will stick.

The man aint take nothing from DC. A lot of you missing this because you focus on its a black man about getting that cheese. no one in the community upset about that - Trayvon be taking care of his own business, he put in that work for the community, now he getting his. I’d be shocked if he doesn’t cut a plea deal that results in a few years of time. If he takes this to trial, he’s facing a good chance of doing a decade or more. The Council will expel him in the meantime. His political career is done.
