In iridescent green coat!

She pulls off this bold green.

80s curtains. Nothing modern about this.

I like it. And Anne very famously doesn’t buy a lot of new clothes; she’s kept some of her outfits in rotation for decades and she looks great, certainly better than people who obsess over whether or not the half tuck is in or out or dated this week.

Long live Anne’s old clothes!

+1. I admire Anne for recycling clothes. And I think those two green outfits were Thai and nubby silk, which last time I checked few use for curtains.

I find the “when did Anne wear this last” articles more interesting than the “which pair of leg-lengthening nude heels is Kate wearing today) articles.

Those are both low cut for the future Queen.

Sleeves too short on fur jacket

The sleeves are 3/4 length.

Yes, too short, doesn't look right especially with slim wrist on a tall person (both apply to me so I know the look--looks like are wearing a child's coat)

I disagree. It's a great look and I'm also tall and slim. Much more current for that look than a full-length sleeve.

They ALL recycle dresses. But except for the Queen, nobody recycles dresses from 1980. True, some of them like Beatrice, Eugenie and, yes, Kate aren’t old enough to have outfits. But can we Kate out of it, just for a tiny second, so we can admire Anne’s 4-decades-old dresses.

She always looks thoughtlessly old fashioned.

I disagree, it is an unflattering look. Looks like "big man little jacket" to borrow from.a skit.

Ok. Happy to agree to disagree. Not going to give you the fight you so desperately want - over a jacket, for crying out loud.

Or thoughtfully resourceful.

Love the blue sash on the elegant white ball gown!

It adds texture (is that mohair?) and geometry (those 3/4 sleeves) to what's otherwise a fairly uninteresting after-wedding dress (there's a difference between simple elegance and boring). A longer jacket would have clashed with Kate's signature very high-waisted outfits. And a pashmina scarf would have looked dumb.

I meant to add, the only thing that's going on with that after-wedding dress is the sparkling waistband and what looks like some slight Tudor-era hip padding directly underneath. A longer jacket would have hidden the waistband. So bring on the short jacket.

That's what is beautiful about this look - it's simplicity and elegance.

I don't think I've ever seen these two before - very pretty. But their shoes are all wrong with those dresses.
