Except, this time, they tried to make a point of say “hey this pic was taken by William this week! 📸 “ which they don’t normally do. It just highlights the fib in their post.

…except no they didn’t. That’s literally not what the Instagram post said. That’s what you read in one linked news source; by the way, US Weekly said the photo was “taken earlier in 2024.” Here is literally the caption on the actual Instagram post:

Thank you for your kind wishes and continued support over the last two months.

Wishing everyone a Happy Mother’s Day. C

📸 The Prince of Wales, 2024

NOTE THAT THIS DOES NOT SAY “HEY WE TOOK THIS PHOTO THIS WEEK,” OR EVEN “WE TOOK THIS PHOTO IN 2024.” The “2024” can simply mean it was posted to celebrate Mother’s Day 2024.

So it was taken in the dead of winter in early 2024? With green grass?

I don’t know what to make of the photo. When compared to the Christmas photos of the children, Louis is now missing a tooth, and Charlotte’s lateral incisors have grown longer, so it couldn’t have been taken last fall.

But it’s also doubtful it was taken very recently due to the foliage.

So when was it taken? Or is it edited?

Dude, it’s an Instagram photo. Do you do this to the photos your family and friends post, too? If someone dares to use a photo of their family looking nice at the beach on their Christmas card, are you like OMG THIS WAS TAKEN MONTHS AGO! Because that’s what this post is: a greeting. A Mother’s Day (UK) greeting. This is not “Today is the day our family is able to sit together in real time and post a photo of this exact moment.” Are you really this dim?

If they’d been in hiding for months after a suspicious medical event and made a point to add “📸 2024” to the picture, which features bright green grass and full leaves and it is still winter? Yeah, I’d be scrutinizing it.

“2024” means it was posted in 2024, not that it was taken in 2024.

That’s up for debate.

Why the camera then?

Because it is a *photo* that is posted in 2024.

Well, yes, dear. Exactly. Thank you for proving my point, that all of you hysterically screeching over this might want to take a breath and understand the fact that entirely different interpretations and meanings and intention are, in fact, possible.

Regarding hospital visits- there are lots of back doors to sneak people in for visits. I don’t believe she only got one visit. She’s very close to her family too

I agree that you can't assume you know who and often people visited either Kate or Charles in the hospital. When they want to visit privately, they can. The visits that were publicly documented, that's a choice they made to let people know a visit was happening, for PR. The guy who wrote that seems to be implying that they were lying about Kate being in the hospital at all, which I think is a huge stretch. It's also the kind of lie that would be ruinous if it came out later, and it would, so it doesn't make sense. She was in the hospital and I'm sure got visits from her family, including more than one from her husband. I would bet her mom was there almost every day.

I do think it's odd how the whole thing has unfolded, and find William's public behavior particularly odd. The things he's chosen to attend versus skip, and his behavior at public events just seems off. That's the kind of thing that make me wonder if the situation with Kate's health is much worse than reported, and perhaps that explains the secrecy as well as his behavior. It may literally just be stress as they try to keep a very difficult health issue private. Though then that doesn't explain the great pains they've taken to say she's fine and recuperating well? I just don't get it.

I also find the fact that Harry flew to the UK to see his dad, but reportedly didn't see William or Kate at all, just... sad. Not surprising, just depressing.

I am torn between thinking they all deserve their privacy and should be left alone, and wishing the palace would come out with something more concrete and clear just to dispel all the crazy rumors. I'm certain the truth is much less dramatic than 99% of these theories, some of which are truly deranged.

The UK has had a mild winter. The greenery is right next to a building...i.e. is a bit sheltered. You could take a picture at my house in Maryland looking like this right now.

I literally admitted that you are the opposition (a different view) to my view (also different). Have you never heard of a debate? I get it, you can’t debate, you just project by calling people names.

I’m moving on from you.

The Crown portrayed this perfectly!

It is interesting how much The Crown has shaped perception. I have never watched it but people who have seem to have a more negative opinion of the royal family.

I have too much time on my hands. I just scanned their Instagram page. No picture taken by Kate has a year presented going back to Prince Philip's death. At that time, each picture that was presented was explicitly labeled as "This picture was taken at Balmoral in 2015." "Captured by The Duchess of Cambridge 📷 The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh surrounded by seven of their great-grandchildren at Balmoral Castle in 2018."

In no instance prior to today has a year been presented without accompanying text explicitly stating what it means.
