Official Trump VP thread

I don't see Vance as the pick. Trump won't forget how Vance said bad things about him back in the day (of course Trump brags about how wholeheartedly Vance supports him now...but nobody holds a grudge like Trump). The same could be said about Rubio. That's why I lean toward Scott - on the rare occasions he has criticized Trump he has been more measured.

I’m sure it’s a coincidence that Elon made likes private today.

Burgum because Trump never wants to be overshadowed and everyone will say “who?” Same as 2020, it’s the “Trump wants to be king” ticket.

+1 Burgum is Pence with money and no idea how Congress works.

+2 his name has been coming up a lot lately.

Barely anyone knows who he is. I guess if Trump doesn't think he needs a bump from any constituency then Burgum is a great pick.

He's a terrible pick, the worst of the names mentioned. For one thing, he's too old.

I'm going with JD Vance. Will help a lot with Western Pennsylvania, which is crucial.

But JD Vance is young and good looking. I can’t imagine Trump wanting to be on stage next to that guy.

On the one hand, I agree that Vance is probably the guy. On the other hand, I can’t believe Republicans will choose to double down on the white male vote. There’s no room for growth with white males. They desperately need to do better among women voters.

My prediction is Vance (to get the blue collar rust belt voters) or Rubio (for the Latino vote).

Why do so many conservative men have this beard?

“Billionaire Larry Ellison wants President Trump to pick Tim Scott as his VP”

Tim Scott helps with Black men vote. I see him choosing Scott. No need for a woman. That gets no more votes. Trump needs the Black men vote to make him viable because he’s bleeding suburban women.

No. No, he will not. Have you ever met a Black person? ….or watched Tim Scott?

[NP; Black woman]

Love Tim Scott! But I think/ hope it will be desantis.

Oh and just FYI, Trump is not “bleeding suburban women.”

Oh sure. Suburban women have been turning away from the GOP in droves since 2016. Now their daughter's futures are on the line. I'm sure that will being in a lot of votes for Republicans.

Unlike a few white wine drinking suburban beltway moms who populate DCUM, mothers across the country do not automatically assume that their daughters will need multiple abortions.

I don't necessarily think abortion should be illegal in the first trimester because of the effect on care for miscarrying women. But that's certainly not my primary concern in the election as a suburban mom.

I think Kristi would be a good choice. Trump has great ideas but he can be offensive and rambles when he talks. She is articulate, classy and can stay on message.

Trump is going to get absolutely crushed over the abortion issue unless he chooses a pro choice VP and adopts a pro choice position himself.

And even then it is likely too late. No one would buy it.

Really? Everything I’ve heard Trump say about abortion is that the federal government should stay out of it.

That's his message NOW. There was a time where he said that there has to be some sort of punishment for women who have abortions. I don't believe him for a second.

And, okay, let's go with his current message about letting the states decide. Why would any pro-choice woman in a red state vote for him? He will not help women in those states.
