The coordinated attack on D.E.I. is a vast right wing conspiracy

Take a look at the DFile at FilmThreat.
They have been actively pushing out whites and
men at Disney in favor of women and minorities who will serve as activists.

This is not a problem.

Why do conservatives hate America and everything it stands for? Why are they so racist?

The next time you get on an airplane do you want the pilot, crew and air traffic controller to have been hired on merit/qualifications or DEI? I’m guessing you’d go with merit/qualifications. Does that make you racist?

You commit a logical fallacy here. It is not an either/or choice.

FAA is seeking such people.

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/united-airlines-training-program-aviate-academy-pilot-shortage-graduating-class-women-minorities/

United is picking 80% minotirty females.

They are not hiring based on race. They have a training program with an inaugural class that is 80% "minorities" OR women. Since 50%+ of the population are women and almost half are non-White, it doesn't seem hard to get to 80% women or "minorities".

Again the subtle stupidity of the DEI concept

Why would you assume that the pipeline of people interested in being a pilot mirrors the sex & racial breakdown of the country as a whole?

Women are about 5% of airline pilots globally

So having a class that’s half women, for example, isn’t just a thumb on the scale - it’s jumping up and down on it

Imagine trying to fill half a firefighter class with women (and thereby leaving out almost half the men who were interested)

Would you expect it to create… better firefighters?

It’s called setting goals and trying to attract people. The supposition that only white dude make good pilots is ridiculous.

Nobody said any such thing.

It's the pretty obvious subtext of certain posts on this thread suggesting that by hiring women and people of color, United is hiring unqualified people.

You say “by hiring”

What PPs are saying is “by making it the top priority to hire”

Big difference

Why are you putting something in quotes that nobody besides you said?

1. United: we have decreed that 80% of our new pilots must be gay, applause please
2. Some people: why? we just want good pilots
3. Other people: you are just homophobes

1. United: we have a new program and the inaugural class 20% White men and 80% White women or BIPOC men and women
2. Some people: They are only hiring unqualified people!
3. Other people: That is racist and sexist and makes no sense.

DEI in a nutshell:

Very clear directives to use race in a discriminatory way for hiring. Gross example by IBM.

Do we know how many people from each demographic they admitted and denied for flight school?

I don't know. Why don't you look it up?

It is meant to and very successfully divides people who would otherwise be aligned in their financial interests, thus preventing the rise of organized labor. I think that DEI has very deliberately arisen as a concept during a time when the gap between the richest and the poorest has become even shockingly wider — it’s intended to provide a mild outlet for anger and some bandaid fixes while still keeping labor weak. Meanwhile DEI itself has become a significant wealth generator for some. So, there are a lot of corporate interests that keep it going.

You know what all these identity-based groups at colleges and corporations never seem to have? A class-based affinity group. Why? Because that would be called “a labor union.” And none of the organizers, not universities or corporations, want a strong labor movement.

Wait, I thought it was Marxist? You're confusing your talking points, pp. If it's Marxist, it certainly can't be anti-labor.

I’m not right-wing and I have never called DEI Marxist. I realize you are incapable of thinking beyond a strict political binary but other people are capable of more complex reasoning.

I have a question about the I in BIPOC. Is it only American Indians or if an Irish American moved back to Ireland would they then become Indigenous too?
