Nice! DC also got great merit (a little less than your student but exactly what we needed to make it a very serious contender). Loved the energy of the campus, SUCH a great option. Congrats to your DC!

You too! My DD was accepted to a target she’ll be really happy at, but she’s still waiting to hear from a few reaches. Any acceptances at this point will be a bonus; rejections won’t matter because she knows she’ll be out of the house next year 😂

Outstanding!! They have a unique approach to the college experience and attract some incredibly talented and well-rounded students. Please check out their Pipe Band -- they're terrific.

Many congrats to your DC!

+10. Good midwestern folks. The other kids will be a nice change from the DMV kids.

I wish I had gone to college in the Midwest.

+1. Well, I am from the Midwest and did go to a Big 10 school there. Just much more laid back kids than EAst Coast competitive college types. Friendly ya da da da da. I miss that!

My BFF from grad school (we went to U of M) went to MSU undergrad. So she has experience with both. She said the kids at MSU are much friendlier and there are a lot less strivers there. Which makes me happy. She also had no problems with the coursework at U of M at the grad level and felt well prepared.
My daughter will fit in there perfectly.

+10 That's awesome!

My DC was admitted ED1 to a SLAC. First choice and was a high target.

Why not name the school?

OP - no pressure here to name if they opt not to. Everybody has their reasons and that is okay.

We are celebrating it either way

Kid worked really hard these last years after a rocky covid start to high school, so very proud. My biggest worry now is that 3 out of the 4 are so similar I'm not sure how she'll choose. Wondering if we should've cast a more diverse net.

Still waiting to hear from the MD state schools and her reaches--

Awesome!

Mind sharing the merit aid offered by Allegheny?
