The Federalist Society - sponsors of Justices Alito, Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, Barrett and Roberts, are done with Trump. They have backed Haley in 2024.

So no, SCOTUS will not let Trump off. The Justices can just let this stay at the DC Court and let Trump rot.

Don't agree. I think he goes to SCOTUS for the stay, and SCOTUS denies it before the end of Feb. Trial will start beginning of May. Two month trial and conviction on July 4.

how do you figure that they are done with Trump? I could see Roberts and Barrett being done with him, but not the others.

Being commander-in-chief was part of Obama's official duties. Whether or not you approve of the drone killings, he had immunity.

Reading the opinion, I don't see the Supreme Court touching this with a ten foot pole - it's that devastating. They'll refuse certiorari and let the appeals court ruling stand.

I couldn’t read legalese if I tried, but I do know that for this corrupt Supreme Court, nothing means anything, up to and including fifty years of established precedent. So if they want an outcome, they’ll have it and then fill in the “reasoning” later.
