Hunter Biden indicted on nine tax charges, adding to gun charges in special counsel probe

It is a pretty crazy ruling. The whole case depends on this form and the gun store owners admitted they changed the form 3 years later when the ATF came to get it because they realized that they had gotten a second form of identification as required. So the form getting submitted into evidence is not the one Hunter actually filled out, but instead a version hat was doctored years later. It does seem that both the original form and the doctored form have the box for unlawful drug use checked no, but it seems pretty relevant in cross-examination that the government's main witness was willing to doctor the form that is at the heart of the case. Hunter should get a chance to question this guy about it since it goes to his credibility.

Is Hunter going to testify? If so, his lawyers could tease out the story that the form is not the original one and that it has been altered.

What's the story with this judge? Seems like some crazy evidentiary rulings.

If Hunter is found guilty of felony then that means that all of the MAGAs who own guns and smoke weed, use meth et cetera (and I'm pretty sure there are millions of them) are also felons and should be turning themselves in and giving up their right to own guns for being in violation of the same crimes that Hunter is accused of.

That's what FAIRNESS would dictate.

But this trial isn't about fairness, it's about political targeting.

It’s truly an easy way for the White House to say the courts are independent. I don’t doubt they are, but a lot of people think Trump had a DA that “found” something to charge him with, just like a cop “finds” something to stop you and write you a ticket

The world doesn’t end if Hunter catches a charge, and the White House can maintain the high ground against the MAGA extremists

I don't recall Melania showing up at all.

Yep, the Biden White House would have the high ground (at the expense of Hunter's conviction) and millions of substance-using gun-owning MAGAs would be dishonest hypocrites.

You are correct--Melania never showed up, neither did his favorite, Ivanka. For doubters who claim HB's wife didn't come to court, below is a link to an article with photos that shows that HB's wife was there (also his mother and sister).

She is there, though, so you need to find something else to lie about.

Hypocrisy and cognitive dissonance is not a problem for the Republican Party though. I can’t imagine what goes through their heads, if anything.

more than the million MAGAs, i wonder if Don Jr is worried today. he has guns I assumed he bought by checking the same "i dont use drugs" box. some of his unhinged videos may suggest that a conviction of a gun owner who uses (or used at the time he bought the gun) drugs may send some chills donw his spine (not that a Trumo justice department would ever investigate, let alone convict Don Jr for anything)

Hypocrisy and cognitive dissonance is not a problem for the Republican Party though. I can’t imagine what goes through their heads, if anything.

Projection that most don’t care if hunter Biden is convicted? You’re right I don’t care. I don’t have sympathy for the fate of someone who buys firearms and doesn’t even comply with the meager regulations that we have. I hope that what used to be a “look the other way” crime becomes an offense that is prosecuted vigorously in all 50 states. Lock ‘em all up.

And yet. It’s heartening to see Biden’s loyalty and support for his son. That is leadership.

it's nice to have a human being with a human-sized heart and love for his family in the white house.

and by this way, this trial is actually political.

Correction: SOME of his family.

He has still never met his 7th grandchild.
And, he refused to acknowledge her for over 6 years.
So, there's that.

And, this is NOT political.

It is political. No one else is brought up on these charges unless there is something that goes with it, like murder or robbery. He is charged for this BECAUSE he is a Biden.

All those MAGA's that kept electing his father to senate? Those?
