America was founded on religious freedom; why do atheists want to ban organized religion?

BILLINGS — At St. Patrick Co-Cathedral in Billings, the Christmas nativity scene is typically left up until early February.

But this year—that's not the case. The church's outdoor nativity scene was destroyed on January 16 - the same night Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church was broken into on the Billings South Side.

Father Leo McDowell said the incident has rattled the church at 215 North 31st Street.

"The wise men were all decapitated, the animals were strewn all over, and Mary, Jesus, and Joseph were missing,” McDowell said. “It was kind of a shock to think that someone would come in and do that."

Well if its ok to behead other religions altars, why not this one?

Speak out about ALL religious freedoms or keep it to yourself.

Why are all these incidents of vandalism and destruction ignored? Aren’t you supposed to speak out for ALL religions? Why are you silent on these incidents?

TOWSON, Md. — A manger scene on the lawn of Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish, on Loch Raven Boulevard in the Towson area, has been vandalized.

There will be a special place for the person(s) who did this to our manger at Immaculate Heart Of Mary Church. On your day of judgement, you will be reminded of December 22-23, 2022. Disgraceful," he wrote. "But rest assured we will build a bigger and better one next December for our Live Nativity."

These arent even from this year? You literally had to go back to past years to find a handful of these?

What about the one that happened this year, in Iowa? No remark on upholding religious freedoms by prosecuting this christian to the full extent of the law for violating the constitution you care so deeply about?

Or do you only care when its christians being persecuted?

Heartless NYC vandals desecrate Queens church nativity scene

Gutless vandals desecrated a nativity scene outside a Queens church, pulling down lights, ornaments and damaging figures of the Baby Jesus and Virgin Mary.

The ugly attack outside St. Nicholas of Tolentine R.C. Church on Goethals Avenue in Jamaica Thursday night left the nativity in shambles, according to a church official and stunned parishioner Walter Ferrer, 55, who has helped set up the holy display for the last three Christmas seasons.

Ferrer had no clue who would decimate the creche and wreak havoc on the five-foot-high figures.

The clergyman said the demonic duo first pulled up in front of the church at 7:53 p.m. Thursday on an electric scooter and then stood in front of the nativity. “One of the guys pulled down the decorations and one hit the plexiglass, Father Thomas said. “Then they left” before returning at 9:45 p.m., this time on separate scooters.

“When they came back, one of the guys left the scooter on the street and went inside the nativity,” the priest said. Church officials discovered the damage — including broken figures of the Virgin Mary and Baby Jesus — on Friday morning.

But nobody here posted about how awful it is that Christian displays were being destroyed and vandalized.

I wasnt around here last year so I have no idea if that is true or not.

Alls I'm seeing is refusal to speak out about this particular one, and you are instead trying to shift the argument. But it's clear where you stand, and where most "religious freedom" fanatics stand. Only with your religion. If you really respected and cared about the constitution and freedoms outlined there you wouldnt be trying to make whataboutism arguments.

Good Samaritan recovers holy figurines damaged at Billings church

BILLINGS- A Billings church is getting some answers and some closure after its nativity scene was vandalized and the Holy family was stolen.

A good Samaritan and Q2 News viewer saw previous coverage of the vandalism at Billings’ St. Patrick Co-Cathedral and realized where her recent find belonged.

While she wouldn’t speak to Q2 on camera and asked to remain anonymous, she did share what happened.

“Hello! I have some good news; I have Mary and Joseph!” she wrote in her email.

Noticing the decapitated Joseph on her apartment building’s fire escape, with the help of family and some other residents, they recovered his body.

We also found Mary. We, unfortunately, did not find Jesus. I have reattached Joseph’s head,” her email said.

The St. Patrick Co-Cathedral Christmas nativity scene is typically left up until early February.

But this year, the church's outdoor nativity scene was destroyed on Jan. 16—the same night Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church was broken into on the Billings South Side.

Nobody posted about the multiple vandalisms and destructions of Christian Nativity displays, and are only outraged now when a satanic altar is vandalized/destroyed. You all only care about that one incident.

Just pointing out the double standard and hypocrisy

Will you care to join in the condemnation of destroying this religious altar? I will join in condemning the beheading and removal of nativity scenes from churches - though I did giggle a little at the last one "we couldnt find jesus" coming from a church, but thats beside the point.

Otherwise, it's really apparent that christians only care about protecting christian values, not about religious values. Which are wide and varied.

Vandals destroy lights, multiple Nativity scenes

Surveillance video catches crystal clear video of a vandal destroying some decorative lights, then tossing a rock at the glass front door.

This happened at 4 a.m. New Year's Eve.

Portsmouth police said 30 minutes later and 1 mile away, vandals damaged a nativity scene and another one nearby the next night.

Neighbors are offering a reward.

Franklin Avenue is a quiet street for residents like John Clayton.

But surveillance video from his neighbor shows a disturbance: a person smashing some decorative lights, then picking up a rock and throwing it at the door, then running off into a waiting vehicle.

Despite the late hour, it’s exceedingly crisp video.

"You can almost guess his hair color,” Clayton said. “They picked the wrong house."

He hopes justice is not far off.

"I'm just so sorry it happened to them,” he said. “When bad things happen to good people, it's just senseless and sad."

About a mile away, a Nativity scene was damaged around 4:30 on New Year's Eve on 24th Street. They believe a black Honda Accord or Civic could be connected.

Almost exactly 24 hours later, Virg Howard’s nativity scene was vandalized just a few blocks away.

The Christ child was tossed from the front walk to the driveway. Decorations on the front porch were also thrown into the yard. Vandals even took lights from trees and bushes and threw them out into the street to be run over by cars.

The donkey in the Nativity got the worst of it. It looks like someone stomped on it. It's in pieces and there's no putting it back together.

"Many, many, many pieces,” said Howard. “It's not salvageable."

It’s the first problem his decorations have had in almost 27 years of living on 27th Street.

"Makes me sad. I'm not angry, just makes me sad."

The Nativity scene is not cheap. But more importantly, it’s an heirloom with sentimental value. The remaining pieces have cracks in them. Howard’s already looking online for a replacement donkey which lists for at least $200 online.

But he said it’s worth it.

"It is to me," Howard said.

Years and years of Nativity scenes being vandalized and destroyed…yet no outrage on dcum. Wonder why not? We are outraged because people are out there destroying people’s religious displays at Christmas, aren’t we?

You haven’t been outraged before today though, have you? No condemnation before this thread? Why not? Aren’t you staunchly pro-religious freedom?

Nobody here cares that Nativity scenes and displays are vandalized and destroyed, why should people get upset about the fake goat nobody believes in getting vandalized?
