No-show at kids' bday party

She bailed on the party. I was still somewhat open to friendship, but after living there 6 years I got to know her better and glad we never got close. I think she is a narcissist, and doubles it via her children’s lives.

Btw she posted her alternative plans. Another kids party. Fine but don’t post it. Idiot.
And don’t rsvp to mine if you have another party. We were second best I suppose.

Ugh, the worst. Similar happened to me. Friend bailed on our party bc she said there was a family emergency and then posted a pic of her kids at a sprayground near her local in laws. I thought someone was headed to the ER or something the way she made it sound.

We had a structured party at a venue in the Spring. I kept the numbers down to about 10 due to the cost per kid. Two kids arrived halfway through the party (almost missing the activity). One kid slept through the mid morning party… In the end, it’s just a kids’ party. These social faux pas are a little annoying, but it’s more important to focus on the celebration and move on. I was just happy not to be dealing with a sleepover - ugh, that’s what she wants next time.
