Thank God I’m an Atheist

Probable multiple reasons, and they’re not exclusive.

People are afraid of something that challenges them and some may not have the background to argue back. That’s on believers.

Atheists’ own behavior can be off-putting and unlikable. Some atheists are great. But if we had to judge atheists on the basis of DCUM’s atheists who insist on insulting believers with words like “myth” and “fairy tale,” who impersonate other posters, who always have to have the last word, or who claim to be expert on Aquinas on the basis of what they’ve read on some atheist website, well that isn’t going to go well either.

You type all of these words saying how you don’t like atheists. Over and over and over again you say it. Over and over and over again you use ad hominem. But atheists never say they don’t like you. The atheists never resort to ad hominem.

Why do you think that is?

I’ll tell you why I think it is if you want.

It’s actually Pew that says it. I don’t run Pew.

Pew shows that atheists overwhelmingly are negative about religious people.

That’s what their research shows.

Probably because they've been harassed by atheist haters IRL or on DCUM.

With due respect, I'm an atheist and I really don't like her.

I'm 16:24 back from a break. One of you asked why people don't like atheists. I gave you several answers, and also put in something against believers.

Sorry if the truth hurts.... Not liking me and putting your head in the sand aren't going to fix your behavioral problems that make people dislike you.

Yet here you are, "back from a break" to stir the pot.

Laughing emoji poster is one of the most annoying posters on dcum, per dcum.

You made it into a thread specifically about that topic.

+ agree on both points. 😂 is basically a troll. And don’t ask why people dislike atheists and not expect to get any answers.

Why do you think that there is only one person on DCUM who ever uses emojis? Some people are just so clueless.

So there are two atheist trolls who use emojis? That’s not a good look for atheists.

I think the believers are deluded but generally harmless - so I'm not against them. While an atheist doesn't believe in God, usually due to a lack of any evidence, it doesn't necessarily mean they are against God. I can pretty much respect all the world's religions as long as they stay in their lane and out of my face about it.

Not againt, simply don't believe

+1

Nobody is "against god".

Like I said, clueless.

Newsflash for the ignorant: Many people use emojis.

If we had to judge Christians by DCUM standards we would think they were know it all, judgemental, insulting sort of people. Some Christians are great, though.

The pp said the opposite but leave it to people who read ancient myths as fact to lack reading comprehension.

Technically Jesus had no religion. How could he be Jewish because by him being the son of God it ended Judaism’s main premise. Also Christianity did not spread till after his Death.

The beauty of atheism is that I share just one belief with all other atheists. After being raised fundamentalist, the lack of dogma suits me.

Jesus was a Jewish philosopher.

A philosopher who was born Jewish. Like a messie.

PP would be lost without atheists to criticize. It's their favorite thing. And what's so insulting about the term "myth"? Every civilization has myths.

He had faith and love, and this is what Christianity is about. It is not about relegion.
