Stepfamilies and blended families are extremely sensitive situations and adultery is still something most people don’t like. I don’t see how modern life has made adultery acceptable. It’s cause for divorce and causes irreparable harm to the foundation of a marriage. Blending a family is something few families can do successfully and without great effort and understanding and sacrifice. I would say the reason marriage should be honored and kept sacred is because of the horrible things that happen when the institution is entered into lightly. So many kids carry lifelong scars from the trauma of divorce, adultery, etc. I think marriage is a protective institution for the entire family unit, not just the man/husband. |
Woman carry the vast majority of the burden of reproduction. When they are forced to be pregnant for decades they have little power. |
| To OP: You're welcome. |
In America no one can force a woman to become pregnant. Nor can a man be forced to impregnate a woman. I have never heard of an American woman being pregnant for decades, and I live near a huge community of Mennonites. They tend to have large families and they are pregnant more often than the typical American woman. The average American woman has between 1.66-2.07 children over her lifetime, depending on the source we look at. |
Are you a man? And today in civilized areas women get the health care they need. Including contraceptives and other reproductive care so they are NOT pregnant for decades. |
