Ditto! Plus Northern Lights in Iowa. Also, there was something supernatural about the way the sunlight shined in Fatima, Portugal.

And I’d say just generally I’m in awe of any star-filled sky. As a city dweller, it’s a rarity for me and feels so special. I think it’s spectacularly beautiful.

Also driving the California coast through Big Sur, I found those ocean cliffs so beautiful and powerful it almost made me weep.

Have you seen the night sky in Westcliffe, CO?

Not at all, I went as a teenager inter-railing through Europe when I saw Lucerne. My whole day's food budget was taken by the cost of a hot dog from a stand ($12!) and I slept in a tent in a campsite.

I have not been everywhere, but below is my humble list of the most beautiful places and things I have seen in my life:

- Lighthouse Point Beach in Eleuthera: insanely beautiful spot. Too bad Disney is making the whole place a destination for its cruise ships.
- The rice hills in Sapa, Vietnam: Very special place.
- The backcountry in Glacier National Park in Montana - such a beautiful place.
- The backcountry in Yellowstone: Some parts is like walking on another planet. Go backcountry and avoid the crowds of tourists.
- Some coral reefs and special areas I have found when scuba diving. One time I was diving in crystal clear water with all around visibility in about 60 feet of depth, with a multi-color soft coral garden below me growing on top of the finest and whitest bottom sand, with schools of fish swimming all around and larger fish at a distance and light rays penetrating the water column as if in a Hollywood movie. I remember looking around and thinking, so this is what beauty really means.
