That’s 2020. Where’s Prep’s 2023? |
Prep posts matriculations on the school's main Instagram. they usually start in mid April. |
They're helped by having a lot of kids with Hispanic heritage. Last year they did fantastic. |
I agree. All the schools look pretty good, both public and private. Congratulations to all the seniors! |
Bear in mind many of these are applying overseas, so won't know if they are in until July/August. |
| Saint Johns? |
| Where’s Saint Johns matriculation? For last year? |
You have to wait until they start posting on their main official Instagram nowadays. I think they wait until all decisions have been made. |
|
Will people in this thread still find it creepy when the info is posted on the school’s main public social media page? Stay tuned and find out… |
This is because their college matriculation is so impressive. Is off the charts. |
If somebody’s child got into Harvard or Yale, they would love these matriculation pages… |

General word of caution. These pages exclude not just those who do not share their college decisions for reasons like humility, solidarity with their friends who don't know their outcomes yet, etc. etc., but also those who haven't decided yet among the multiple options they have on the table. My DS, who graduated last year, is aware of at least 2 kids from his high school who are trying to decide between different colleges (including the T10 college DS goes to, which is how he knows about them as they are quizzing him about the college), who are not on the Instagram page of their school.
This also means many of those not (yet) on these pages are the ones who have the most no. of options after RD. The pages will thus be much more informative in May than they are now. Even that is a bit dicey as some high schools, and senior classes, are much more likely to share their results than others. Apparently (according to DS) it's a function of the "class vibe" or culture (peer effect) how many decide to share, and something as idiosyncratic as how proactive and diligent the admins of the page in a particular year are. Because of all these random noises, any data from instagram pages for any school should probably be averaged for multiple years for any meaningful info on how well a school does in college admissions. |
| Also: Boys at our school generally don't do them unless they are put on from athletics. My DS says they are "for girls". |
| Not letting my kid do this. |
