SO sick of weed smoke everywhere

Anonymous
Agree wholeheartedly with all the posters who are sick and tired of dealing with the smell of weed! For some of us, the smell actually makes us physically ill. For me, it can spur a migraine so to all you people who say “deal with it,” I say pay for me to take off every single time I get a migraine from the incessant smell of weed. Also, the thing with weed is, the smell permeates everything and doesn’t easily dissipate. It’s extremely noxious. We absolutely must start writing our representatives about this. This is a serious concern and affects the quality of our lives. And before you say, okay “grandma,” I’m in my early thirties and you should have more respect for grandmothers.

We were in Denver a few weeks ago, and it was worse than downtown DC. The stench was everywhere. I just don’t understand the appeal of being high all day.

I understand supporting decriminalization and medical marijuana, but public consumption all day every day is something else entirely. But apparently that is where we are at. It’s one more thing in the triumph of trash behavior.

+1

And sadly, the only thing that's going to start turning the tide even a little in many places will end up being the inevitable tragedies. Spectacular weed-related car crash deaths, or other tragedies caused when a zombie-fied pothead isn't fully functioning and does something that ends up endangering a child, burning down a house, whatever. The pot lovers will scream that it hasn't happened yet and won't happen. Sure, sure. It's going to take innocent non-smoking people dying for any jurisdictions to grow the balls to curb this s**t, especially behind the wheel.

You mean like how the spectacular tragedies created by easy access to guns led to meaningful change?

Shut up and stop using the race card. You are just an a$$h0le for driving while high and endangering everyone around you while driving impaired. You are also freely available to eat gummies of all you care about is getting high and you won't expose bystanders to your carcinogens and psychoactive substances.

Because prevalence. Do you really need a basic math lesson that risk 101 = hazard x exposure?

I have a short drive into DC every morning and it’s overwhelming the smell of weed. There are also multiple car bang ups and crashes every morning and afternoon. It has been a real increase if those. I was just telling my kids o definitely think it’s correlated to the pervasive pot use by drivers. C street tunnel it’s so strong, like it’s being piped in.

There has been a link to weed and severe depression. Smoking it caused severe depression for some people. I think America just wants to weed out the druggies and let in new democrats voters from South of the border.

And psychosis in teens. A lot of mental illness is now associated with early pot use. The pot is stronger these days. It’s different.

There really is not an accurate equivalent of the “alcohol breathalyzer” for marijuana. Cops mostly have their hands tied when it comes to dealing with stoned drivers.

No, digging in your heels defend your perceived 'right' to drive while impaired on drugs is not a good look, dear.

So people of certain races are more likely to use drugs? Do tell...

Part of the issue is the strength of pot these days and how it's inhaled. The smell lingers forever even after the smoker moves on.

You already know it’s about the rate of prosecution of certain races (particularly for minor drug crimes) but go ahead and keep feigning your ignorance.

And you are a racist, but we all knew that too.

I don’t think much will change until tourism dollars start drying up.

Not at all. If a cop can’t tell if a driver is impaired then the driver must not be very impaired in the first place. Just do a field sobriety test if you suspect impairment.
