Disagree. I wasn’t there and don’t know these players, but I do know it happens that players are sick/hurt or you end up in a tough pool or it was just an off day.

I’m not going to write a team off because of one tournament.

It really doesn’t. And we’re with a different team (that is loathed on here). Ppl have bad days. Or they could have been in a top pool. Lots of factors.

Next level’s U19 team did not win any games at the recent Shooting Star Thanksgiving tournament. I see a pattern here.

Is that what the Husel coaches are spinning for why they left? I heard the director bad mouthed about them to another parent, saying one was a terrible player and she would never support them in recruiting. Director then followed through and didnt take them to a showcase tournament. These were all met and all state players. There are multiple stories in a similar vain I’ve heard that have us avoiding them even though it would be convenient

NP here. I think the level of play is just getting harder year after year at these tournaments as field hockey grows in this area. More international coaches and better coaching, more clubs, kids getting started younger and younger…all have led to games being harder to win. This is good for growth of the sport!

There is not a singler All-Met or All-State player from Husel who left and went to NL in the last two years. Now you're just making things up. Were these 2023 players? 2022?

There is not a singler All-Met or All-State player from Husel who left and went to NL in the last two years. Now you're just making things up. Were these 2023 players? 2022?

There have been several high performing players -maybe not "all met" or "all state"- who left and went to other clubs, even if not NL. This includes D1 and D3 players.

Not sure why any of this is relevant, but them leaving Husel has nothing to do with why they weren't recruited. There are quite a number of strong, D1 recruits who aren't on the all-met or all-state selections, which goes to show how they are just driven by high school coaches, who are each given a number of players they can select based on the team's performance, and largely favor public school and WCAC players. If they were strong enough to play D1, they would be playing D1.

Disagree. Having seen recruitment up close, ability is only 1 factor to get you recruited.

Agree that the rankings largely don’t matter.
