You must see some if the irony I. Your post, no!’b you’re a scientist who didn’t do any research and a atheist who is offended by the devil? YOU should write a play. |
TKC has a lot of great (non-cult) programming - keep throwing out ideas to them! |
Is this speaking in tongues? |
I gather that you are another poster who does not know the definition of a fundamentalist religious organization, so here is the definition again:
|
Just autocorrect |
It may look like speaking in tongues, but it might be just not hitting the correct keys on the keyboard and not spell checking. I think they are trying to be funny because I am a scientist (and I didn't do research about the play I bought tickets to) and am atheist (who is offended by being associated by the devil). I don't do a lot of research when I go to Kennedy Center because I trust them to screen the shows on their stages. The claim that you should not be offended when religious people associate you with the devil (because you don't believe in devil anyway) is a jewel of religious "critical thinking." A few centuries ago they used to torture "heretics" and burn them alive. Now they think you should be fine with their trash talk because they don't kill you anymore. |
What does Trump have to do with this? Are you suggesting Trump worships something other than money? I find it difficult to believe you are a scientist. The exception explicitly disproves your hypothesis that no religious person can apply critical thinking. As far as "exceptions," the list of notable physicists, mathematicians, and engineers that hold religious beliefs is hardly short. So, do some religious people reject critical thinking? Sure. That doesn't mean they don't have First Amendment rights. Do they have a right to offend you? Yes, that's freedom of speech. |
Maybe your love of First Amendment will eventually convince you that I also have the right to free speech. I choose to use my right to raise awareness about their deceitful practices. Would you allow that? |
If you like to nitpick words, where did I say that no religious person can apply critical thinking? A lot of early science was done by clergymen. It's a known fact. |
You seem to believe that they can't meaningfully speak about it. |
DP. None on this thread. |
That comment was directed to the particular poster that I was talking to. I assumed I was talking to a religious person who wanted to convince me that critical thinking implies not to be offended when you are associated with imaginary beings. I later realized that some atheists use the same logic (so the poster might have been an atheist after all). |
Isn’t one of the pelosi daughters on the board? Maybe they like the diversity. |
“It’s the show the CCP doesn’t want you to see.” That means we’ll be seeing it.

| The Shen Yun website specifically references spirituality, specific Eastern religions, and the oppression of Falun Dafa due to their beliefs. Why would you assume this production should be completely secular? It's not the role of the Kennedy Center to censor or provide warnings about religious content, or any content with which you may not agree. |
