I don't think SCOTUS will grant cert on this one because Davis is appealing a *state* court decision. SCOTUS doesn't have jurisdiction here. But it's open season on Obergfell and the LGB did it to themselves by forcing the T on society. Republicans warned that gays would hold the door open for all sorts of perversions to be legitimized. Gays then proved them right with this transgender broadside against society. Now, the public will to back gay rights isn't there anymore. FAFO. |
NP. The encroachment of transgender ideology on every area of life after Obergefell has killed public support for gay rights. Republicans now smell blood in the water and think they can roll back gay rights without suffering at the ballotbox. I think they're right. |
Sad that anyone cares who people marry. Like how does it harm you?
We should just abolish legal marriage. Make civil unions legal instead. If people want to marry in a church for legal reasons, let them. |
Yea, get real. The majority isn't giving up the protections of marriage over the struggles of 5% of the population. |
SCOTUS can hear appeals from state supreme courts on federal questions. |
Civil unions would have the same legal protections. So you don’t want gay marriage, but don’t have any solutions? Why is that? If you don’t want gays to marry, make marriage a church celebration with no legal standing. Isn’t your marriage before God enough? |
I don't care about those who don't care about me. Looking at how gay donors and activists ---because men overwhelmingly hold the power on the LGBTQ side of things too--steamrolled women and forced transgenderism into the law and our spaces, I'm totally done. The attacks on women over the past 10 years have been nasty and dangerous. It's fitting that an even crazier and better funded group of men are coming for the men who came for women. *Shrug* |
Are you a white woman? If so, you benefited most from DEI. It’s sad that you’re willing to give your rights away to MAGA over some propaganda. Maybe someday you’ll have a higher opinion of yourself instead of being a water bearer for men. The slightly longer leash is still a leash. |
While also completely ignoring the leaders of the GOP. Why don’t you compare the women in important roles and committees on both sides and get back to us. |
Killed is a pretty strong word. Have you seen polling that indicates this? |
No, it’s the religious right that just couldn’t accept anything other than Stone Age morality for an answer, and decided attacking trans people was a great way to make inroads in destroying the lives of hundreds of thousands of gay Americans. They never accepted gay marriage, never accepted gay people, never accepted a world where they couldn’t get away without being total animals to them. But the religious right will be the ones who FAFO. We’re sick of their crap. The nonstop child abuse, financial exploitation, the birthing death cult, the silly myths. Americans are increasingly unchurched and the failure of these organizations to not live and let live will be the death of them. Good riddance. |
NP. Killed is too strong. But polls are showing a sharp decline of support for trans rights overall. |
You'll see. |
This. Conservatives may view women as their property but progressives view women as public property. I’m not shedding any tears seeing the conservative men go after the progressive men. Lesbians deserve better but the progressive gay men have done more than any other group to erode women’s rights in this country. |
