Idk. Do you have film? Maybe the coach will give the kid a tryout. You just have to contact the coach and see

I haven’t seen the 5th grade, but I know a lot of them left last year for Durant, Takeover, Mew World, etc.

Current 5th graders. They said there was no team last year and the team was "new". There is only one team.

Prepandemic the age group that is currently 5th grade had what was probably the most talented team that age in the metro area. There have been some coaching changes and players have left. The current 6th grade team orange is one of the best in the area as well, but they have another 6th grade team which is not as competitive.

A Pre-pandemic team of current fifth graders would have been in third grade. Are you seriously talking about a team of third graders? LOL

In the girls side, they were doing open gyms and inviting girls to practice with the team. The coaches were also watching county games. Is the boys side that different?

Occasionally we've seen kids of friends join Nova94 (over a better qualified kid) but this sort of favoritism is pretty common and to be expected on club/travel teams (and no hard feelings as DC gets more game time). But from a coach's perspective, he may be better served by taking a known kid with lesser skills who will show up for practice and work hard rather than a better shooter who may be inconsistent or not show up for practcies.

Any thoughts on this year's 5th grade teams? I'm talking about 11 year old boys who will be in 6th grade in the fall. Tryouts are coming up soon!

Are these the strongest Northern Virginia boys teams? None of them are that impressive in the age group I've seen but admit I've only seen Fairfax Stars play once.
