Hi everyone! I know this type of posting has probably already gone around a million times, and others will try to debate the meaning of "best" but here is a friend's list below. Does this sound right for the "best" elementary schoools (hey, here's an opportunity to correct this typo for those who love to respond to posts about typos!)?

Center City listed, and DC Prep not listed?

| Looks about right to me, with the usual disclaimer for how there's no real "best" and you have to judge for yourself and know your kid and all that... |
+1 Someone else's kid's best is not necessarily mine... |
| Are you also looking at preschool-only charters? Bridges & Appletree? |
| Looks right to me. My kid is at Stokes and we are very happy. But we applied to most of those schools and would not have been disappointed if we had ended up elsewhere. |
| I guess KIPP is not represented because there's either too many of them and not enough of us. Feel free to discuss amongst yourselves. |

| What does the +1 and +2 mean? New to the lingo. |
| My guess is that KIPP is not represented because its specialty is teaching kids from disadvantaged backgrounds and those parents who are reading this are, by definition, providing their children with a more educated upbringing than those children who are the focal point of the KIPP model. |
Please don't speak for KIPP parents if you're not one. ~ An educated KIPP Parent |
| I rest my case. As there is not enough represented to be recognized as one of the best. Yet KIPP is recognized nationally and for some odd reason locally overlooked. |
