Don't forget sharks and fire ants! |
Actually, the lakes serve a purpose. They're used for overflow water. Remember that most of Florida is swamp land that got drained - well guess what? If it weren't for these lakes, Florida would be a swamp again. http://articles.sun-sentinel.com/2012-09-30/news/fl-hoa-retention-ponds-20120925_1_largemouth-bass-peacock-bass-john-cimbaro |
As that article says, an alligator can't be declared a nuisance until it is 4 ft long. |
That was an interesting read! Thanks, PP! (I'm serious, no sarcasm.) |
| Interesting, thanks |
Do people die from cat attacks?!! Maybe a swarm of mosquitos - but a cat attack? |

Disney has wiped out references and depictions of alligators and crocodiles from its storied attractions at the Magic Kingdom in Florida in the weeks after a 2-year-old was killed in an attack at a resort, according to reports. The Miami Herald reported that cartoon alligators and crocodiles have been removed from shows and parades, and a popular one-liner warning parents to watch their children or “the crocodiles will” is no longer told on the Jungle Cruise ride at the Magic Kingdom. Walt Disney World Resort Vice President Jacquee Wahler confirmed to The Washington Post on Thursday that the company “made changes out of respect for the family.” “We did this two weeks ago immediately following the incident,” she said via email. |

When they say you're more likely to "win the lottery," that's not all that comforting. I can go buy five or six scratch-offs right now and have a very good chance, probably better than half, of "winning the lottery."
