The winners will be Montoya, Stewart and Zimmerman. They sold their souls the most to special interest and they know it. They could care less about student achievement. Zimmerman doesn’t even want to do the job. However, she loves the attention and is okay with people telling her what to do and say.

If the system is rigged, then why aren't Sunil Dasgupta and Valerie Coll on the board? They got the MCEA endorsements in recent elections too.

Don’t be absurd. Trumpie idiot.

Diaz is moms4liberty antivax fully not just covid, liar, crazy nut who should be no where near kids,

Yes, all of that is correct, but the problem is that Zimmerman would be even worse for kids.

Absurd. Zimmerman would bring a refreshingly younger and more well-informed perspective to the board. Someone with recent experience inside elementary schools who knows first hand what the problems are and which solutions would be helpful.

Her priority is looking out for teachers, not students.

Her site says both "Advocate for educators" and "Champion for students." With teacher morale being as low as it's been lately, I think that makes a lot of sense. All students are better served by teachers who aren't feeling ignored or burnt out.

MCEA is the advocate for educators in the system. That's why they exist. They shouldn't be on the BoE.

If the MCEA didn't want to influence the BoE, there wouldn't be an Apple Ballot. And there are people who just automatically vote the Apple Ballot, without knowing anything as to why certain candidates are on that ballot.

There are also people who just automatically vote for anyone not on the Apple Ballot.

Not in DCUM universe.

Sure there are. Every year around election time, someone will post something to that effect here.

It’s hard to vote against anyone who hasn’t been endorsed by the apple ballot at some point. Just about all sitting members of the BOE have at some point and this year the apple ballot went away from most incumbents and chose the challengers for this cycle’s endorsement.

All are still 100% democrats, however.

BoE is a nonpartisan role, and Diaz is a RFKJr-Democrat, which is to say not a Democrat at all. The hint is the part where she was put on paid administrative leave rather than agreeing to wear a mask while teaching vulnerable students.

She’s not non partisan in her views
She’s endorsed by Nazi loving freaks moms for liberty
Her own Twitter has her endorsement of libsiftiktoc that is partisan and RFK jr ie antivax more than just covid hello polio and whooping cough
Unified against racism in education endorsed her which is code for racist horrible humans

She’s never been a democrat or non partisan that’s absurd her curriculum she pushes is full on RW hate . It is literally from the Heritage Foundation

And yes the hint about the mask is very on point.

MCPS deserves better than Ms. “:Tin Foil hat. “

Laura Stewart racked up several endorsements from heavy hitters in the council as well as the County Executive himself:

https://montgomeryperspective.com/2024/09/17/stewart-announces-endorsements-for-school-board/

Laura Stewart, Board of Education Candidate in District 4, is proud to announce endorsements from County Council members Evan Glass and Dawn Luedtke, County Executive Marc Elrich, Delegates Jared Solomon and Joe Vogel, and State Senator Cheryl Kagan.

These elected leaders have worked with Laura as she advocated for students, teachers, and families in Montgomery County and in Annapolis, and applaud Laura’s dedication to improving our public schools and children’s environment. Ms. Stewart has consistently advocated for increased transparency and accountability from MCPS and if elected, our legislators know she will be a strong voice on those and many other important issues.

“I’m supporting Laura Stewart because we need to improve oversight, increase transparency and restore trust within MCPS.” Evan Glass, Montgomery County Councilmember, At-Large.

“Laura Stewart is a tenacious, detail-oriented leader who can ensure accountability and integrity within MCPS.” Dawn Luedtke, Montgomery County Councilmember, District 7.

Stewart has a long history of working closely with legislators to pass bills that brought millions of dollars to school construction and education programs, reduced children’s exposure to lead in schools, improved mental health access, strengthened gun safety measures, and increased access to school nutrition.

“In the years I have served, Laura has been an effective advocate and a collaborative partner in Annapolis, focusing on improving education and school environments for all students. Her experience and energetic advocacy will be a tremendous asset to the Montgomery County Board of Education.” Jared Solomon, State Delegate, District 18

“I’ve watched Laura fight tirelessly for Montgomery County students and educators. She is a trusted champion who has the relationships, the knowledge, and the community trust to be effective. I know she’ll be a partner I can count on as we work to make our schools the best in the country.” Joe Vogel, State Delegate, District 17

Stewart says she looks forward to continuing her partnership with our elected officials from the Board table with the shared goal of providing the best educational opportunities possible for our students. “I am honored to have the support of these Montgomery County champions. They work hard to make sure we have strong schools and the resources we need to support our students and school communities. I am excited to work with them as a board member to address the challenges that lie ahead,” Stewart said.

I'll vote straight Apple ballot. Hard to go wrong with that. Also, no incumbents on their list.

If you're a teacher, sure. If you're a parent, then absolutely not.

Why should parents vote for the incumbents?

Yes, but you are conflating two different things. The BOE races are non-partisan races; that is a fact. However, the candidates and/or board members may certainly be registered members of any political party as individuals.
