I would not underestimate Yorktown going forward. They are a coaching staff the boys believe in and their JV squad was very strong this spring. Yorktown picked a bad time to have an off game and it sounds like McLean put it all together. No team should get caught looking ahead. No doubt Robinson and Madison look like the top two teams but they are far from a shoe in to be playing on June 8. Robinson of all teams knows what happened in 2022 so I'm surprised a Robo parent would comment on being in the state championship. One game at a time for all remaining teams

There’s still plenty of games before we get there, but robo v mad would be a great cap for the season.

I think you're forgetting how we absolutely destroyed Madison in the regular season 14-5. In 2022, we did lose to lake Braddock in the playoffs despite beating them in the regular season, but this year we crushed them both in the regular season as well as the playoffs and now we will crush woodson with ease and beat Madison once again. Robo lax is a tier above all northern virginian public high school lacrosse programs and everyone knows that.

McLean was really impressive last night. Played hard, aggressive and loose and didn't seem intimidated at all. Their d-poles really locked down YT's strong attack guys and their middies were aggressive in between the boxes causing turnovers and getting ground balls. They won't be an easy out for Madison on Friday by any means.

But I thought that Yorktown had this superman freshman attack that was going to win POY. What did he do to off set the Mclean D?

Not a Yorktown parent but just looked at MaxPreps states. That freshman had 39 goals and 29 assists and probably outscored all but one player on whatever team you support. He outscored the next closest freshman by 30 points. I wouldn't give him too much grief. He's probably 15 years old and still one of the best players around.

Robinson parent, I wouldn't underestimate Madison under Coach Solomon. I think Madison had a couple players out when they played Robinson. 🤷

Video game stats vs weaker opponent's!! Feed the ball to a good kid against a weak team and he can rack up points. Yorktown struggled to score over 10 team goals vs quality competition.

Madison is clearly the best team in the state after watching them last night. Can’t wait for them to dominate McLean and anyone else who gets in their way. Including Robinson

I guess because Madison had the best team's in '19, '22, and '23. It's now '24.
