Maddie, Maggie, and Lizzie live right next door to one of the nicest parks in Arlington. Of course you bought there thinking you'd end up with at least one Tom in the mix. Either way, you like the traditional home you chose and the strong traditional names you picked for your kids. You're not the least bit trendy (LL Bean everything is your style), and your husband can't stand Americans with "foreign" names like your deadbeat brother in law's daughters, Sophia and Isabella. No, it's Catholic school for your girls, and good traditional values too. Your husband works for Homeland Security, and you both feel nostalgic for the good old days of George W. If by some miracle you DO have another kid, it will probably have Tom as a first name after your father in law who once worked under Reagan. George will be the middle name. |

You live in Takoma Park where you send your kids to private school. It's not that public schools are bad or anything, but Kate is very artistically gifted and Thomas is probably going to be a writer when he grows up. Zoey is a pretty exhausting two year old at the moment. You get along well with everyone except your inlaws who gift Kate with all sorts of crap with "Kathleen" on it. No her name is Kate, not Katie and especially not Kathleen. You totally get that a beloved great-aunt was a Kathleen, but that is NOT Kate's name. Plus the nickname for Kathleen is Kathy, not Kate. Infuriating. At least Thomas corrects MIL when she calls him Tom. Kate is way too easy going and Zoey is way too stubborn. You're happy you waited such a long too have a third. You would go insane if Zoey and Kate were nearly the same age. |

You're really tired of living in DC. You moved here years ago and bought a nice enough house in VA, but the cost of living is killing you! Plus you're really tired of driving in every day. Grace has married and moved to Pennsylvania. You were sad to see her go, but she couldn't afford living anywhere nearby. Her money goes much further in PA, and you're planning on joining her once Henry is out of high school. Caroline is at William & Mary, and you hope she'll see the allure of PA as well some day. Thank goodness for telework! |
