| Wonder how those other NC teams feel now that MLS Next got CISC. The cycle will just continue. Big clubs move to a league, smaller clubs go and start their own thing, fight for survival, it becomes interesting, and then big clubs move to league. Rinse and repeat. |
Yes, one of their Academy players confirmed it with his coach yesterday at their College ID session. Have not heard anyone official confirm the 2 x MLS2 spots, but that's what is rumored. Probably a North and South team. |
Wonder how they pulled that off when Fox has Fuchs and his connections and only got Next 2. Guess will see official announcement. I know there are parent meetings this week. Crazy how all spins in circles. All league chasers will have fun with this. |
No idea, but I suspect having their girls ECNL teams move to GA sweetened the deal for the boys teams. The new tier 2 Carolinas division could use a couple more teams too. Would love to be a fly on the wall at the senior girls meeting tonight to hear how they explain dropping this on the NL/RL teams post-tryouts. Gonna get spicy! |

It's a good move for CISC, some chairs are going to shuffle and fast though. The national team that they lose will be split up and some of those kids will run off (or were already trying out for Fox) and some will take spots on the N/S teams.
New kids will come in, possibly from CSA because now CISC, despite being generally weaker, has the MLSN tag. CSA is in a bind because their girls teams are strong as well, which might have kept them on the sideline of these moves. |
Fuchs opened Fox in NC because he didn't like any of the options for his son. In two years when his son moves to the Charlotte FC Academy, the real question becomes how money will he continue to pour into Fox or does it start to wither. |
He could have easily had his son at the NY location and been fine. He hasn't let that one go even though he's here and I doubt he does with this one. It's been set up really well and the training is excellent. Year 1 and 2 they've beat some strong ECNL and Next programs. And the girls side has competed well in GA showcases. It has a solid foundation. Some things they do aren't ideal, but overall it's set up well. Talking to keeper parents, they get 2 to 3 days a week keeper specific training. Players movement is fluid. Only time will tell, but it has a strong foothold in the area and I don't see it going anywhere. If CISC really does get three teams I'm interested to see what that does to the entire landscape in the area. Mutiny in particular hasn't had much competition for players as they get who they want, and now they have multiple teams to compete for players. CISC getting Next and then Fox likely will get it another year down the line, now multiple teams in the league so the selling points for Mutiny change big. |
Ummmm…if they were D1 players in ECNL guess what…. |
This is what most girls dads don’t understand. Boys programs are bigger than girls programs and most clubs. Big enough to sink a club. CSA will now lose a good chunk of boys to a growing CISC… another club that is thinking ahead. |
Okay, I'll bite: they'll also be D1 players in GA? |
CISC thinking ahead is going to sink CSA? |
Let’s just say, CSA will be wondering what the hell happened to their boys program. Unless they go MLSn in the next year or ao |
|
ECNLs problem was always going to be that they gave a dozen or so clubs too much power. Now the mid tier teams are gaining leverage.
What clubs did ECNL promote from RL today? |
|
Wenatchee FC Youth to ECRL.
Club from Washington state……..another dud. |
