what do you do with the extra sauce, stock, etc that you have left over?

When a recipe calls for something like bbq sauce, wine, chicken stock, etc, and you have a good bit left over, what do you do with it? I don't always use it within 7-10 days (especially if it's something like bbq sauce) so it won't keep in the fridge, and I really hate dumping it down the sink. Do you freeze it (does wine even freeze?)? Make sure you plan another meal with that ingredient so it gets used within a short amount of time? This may be a "duh" question, but for some reason, I'm just not seeing the light!

TIA!

Freeze it and throw it in soup or stew.

I freeze leftover tomato sauce and chicken/beef stock. Just drink the leftover wine with your dinner. BBQ sauce lasts 4 months in the fridge.

Definitely freeze if it hasn't been previously frozen-stock is like gold, is meant to be frozen and the same for sauce. Again, this is only if the stock or sauce you are using wasn't previously frozen. Once it has been defrosted, it cannot be re-frozen.

This stuff definitely freezes, but if you're like me, I freeze the left over stock, then forget about it b/c you have to thaw it in advance of using it again. So I end up with lots of tupperware containers in the freezer w/stock.

Wine & bbq sauce definitely freezes too. I'm not sure about the shelf life of the latter. 4 mos. seems an awfully long time for homemade, but maybe the vinegar keeps it from spoiling.

Sometimes, I can be organized enough to plan two meals in the same week using the stock and supplementing with H2O if the stock runs out. When you just have a little bit of stock or wine, I use it to re-heat rice dishes to soften the rice or dump it in soup.

Open BBQ sauce keeps WAY longer than 7-10 days in the fridge. It's basically ketchup. Do you throw out ketchup 7-10 days after you open it?

For stock, like a PP, I freeze it and then forget it's there
