The worst presidents in the post WWII era:
A bipartisan list: Carter Nixon GW Bush Obama I’d say in that order, but reasonable people can differ. Best: Reagan JFK Eisenhower Clinton Best AFTER leaving office -- Clinton, G Bush 41 |
I think I'm a reasonable person, and you are correct that I differ about a lot, but most of all: Best after - Carter! |
Obama and Bush will definately switch places if Obama wins another term...everybody is already sick of him. |
Why was JFK good?
If he had not been killed, nobody would be singing his praises |
nice hair...pretty wife...nastalgia for simpler times. not really a great president but not a loser either. |
what do carter and a venerial disease have in common? you can't get rid of either of them. |
Actually the Carter Center eradicated a disease. And that's just a side project. Carter is by far the most important "after" president. |
W hands down. |
Carter built houses, made undesired intrusions in US foregin policy and branded Israel as an “apartheid state”
On balance not especially helpful. Clinton's role in the wake of Katrina and the Haiti earthquake as well as his welcome role as a glabal ambassador far exceeds the positive contibutions of Carter. Clinton is admired throughout the world, Carter is a joke. |
Nobel laureate Archbishop Desmond Tutu calls for international campaigners to treat Israel as they treated apartheid South Africa |
A huge loser as a human being. His serial womanizing, lies about his health, JFK is the one who began the escalation of Viet Nam. As an earlier PP noted, had he ot been assasinated, he would be on the list of the worst. Johnson had to take the over JFK's mistakes in Viet Nam and Johnson is the one who got all the Civil Rights laws passed. These laws were the most important legislation of the 30th century. Carter is the ex-president who used his time to help with so many projects, e.g., Habitat for Humanity. What did Reagan do that was good? Why is he put on a pedestal? After it was announced that he had /alzheimers, it was obvious why he did so many of the things he did. I also think Gerald Ford should come under of the best while in office because by pardoning Nixon, he allowed the coever Nixon's country to get back on track with the Nixon impeachment and Watergate over. Also, whatever Nixon's faults, he did open the door to relations with China. I don't think Eisenhower belongs in either category. Essentially his two terms were "Thank you" for winning WWII and he got to play golf for eight years at taxpayers expense. Best in office Truman Johnson Ford Clinton Worst in office: JFK, Reagan Geo. H.W. Bush Geo. Bush' Obama Best after office: Carter Geo. H.W. Bush Clinton Worst in/out of office: Defacto president Dick Cheney |
Apparently, he wasn't considered a joke by the Nobel Peace Prize Committee. Obama was also awarded this prize but it was for being the first AA elected Pres. of the US. So, really, the prize should have been awarded to the American voter who overcame their prejudices and elected him because he sure as hell had not, and has not, done anything to deserve this honor. |
Worse is Carter, Obama but in the future i can see obama as being the worst |
Corrections before the DCUM spelling police siren goes off: assassinated not don't remember what I was saying her but I think it should have been deleted. 20th century, obviously! |
best: Reagan
worst: tied Carter & Obama |
