What is wrong with us?

the problem is not "us" - it is trump. He is a loser and pulling the country down with him

NP and it’s not just Trump st this point. Congress is allowing he to do whatever he wants, his base isn’t pushing back enough to make him change. It’s us at this point.

Probably another 30-50 billion. That seems like the sweet spot in terms of aid we like to give per cycle.

This is a ridiculous post.

Notice - not one - NOT ONE - of Iran's allies came to their defense when they were being pummeled by Israel.
Not China. Not Russia. Not one of their proxies.
In reality, Iran has become a pariah.

I don’t think they needed to. That’s kinda the point. Israel needed America. Iran didn’t need anyone.

That’s embarrassing. I can’t imagine what Putin thinks seeing the mental instability of our strike then hide

If you think Iran was successful in the 12 day war, then you must be living in Iran and are subject to the propaganda of its leaders.

100%.

Iran got hammered. Their air defenses apparently totally ineffective, their leadership decapitated.

Big ouch.

Whatever it is, we don't miss it, and it supports our foreign policy objectives, so no problem.

Personally think it would be nice keeping they money here in America and saving our money rather than fighting wars for a country thousands of miles away. But hey, maybe you're right that should be supporting a nation who already gets free healthcare since we don't need that.

DP.

So you’re glad that VOA and USAID got axed? Progressives as America Firsters?

Guess we’ve reached that weird point where the far left and far right have gone to such extremes that they’ve reached agreement.

The ROI for those two agencies is certainly subject to debate.

No, AIPAC wants you to send more money to Israel. As Trump said, "Israel got hit really hard" so they are going to need ALOT of aid to rebuild and resupply their military armaments.

Israel has enough money. I can’t even afford to replace the windows my house.

All that done by Israel, not US.

Ehud Barak, a very smart man and former pm of Israel, once said Iran wants nukes simply because it makes sense for a country of that size and population. He was right. The truth is nuclear weapons were considered by the Shah first and he struck a deal to buy nuclear reactors from the U.S. but this paused because the Revolution (some say the revolution may have been caused by the shah’s ambition to develop nukes).

The long story short is the goal to prevent Iran will require consistent regime change. The goal to get a nuke is not going to stop with a liberal regime change. Even if the Shah’s son or another liberal government comes to Iran, they’ll still be interested in buying a nuke for protection against Israeli or us aggression. And that resolve is going to harden precisely because of the actions of the past few weeks. They would’ve never been touched by Israel or the Us if they had a nuke

And what did Israel accomplish?? Nothing. What is Israel plan? Israel can not even competently occupy Gaza. How is a country as small and weak as Israel going to beat Iran? I would love to see Israel try to invade Iran. Knock yourself out.

This failure is the end of Bibi. He will be gone in 2 months.
