Iran is going to keep going after the gulf states. They are already running out of interceptors and the US is refusing to give them more. Those countries have significant pull with Trump and destroying their oil and gas infrastructure will cause worldwide economic damage.

Which is why you don't launch an attack like this when you are clearly not prepared for the obvious response. But now that we're in it, desperate times call for desperate measures. The gulf states are going to be demanding more interceptors and there are only so many out there.
