SJC has zero good wins this year. I'd take Prep over them.

SJC handled Taft & Prep did not. Everyone knows which school is dodging which!

Sorry but no IAC is dodging Military Road this year or last year.

Tell your coach to propose mutual dates other than the first week of the season.

Everyone knows the IAC is dodging the cadets. Reasons that have been stated.

1. Prep got worked the last 2-3 times they played.
2. Landon got worked in 2020 before Covid kicked in.
3. Bullis has been close but couldn’t pull off a win.
4. They got recruits to commit that the IAC schools thought they had in their pocket.
5. Ince was recruiting kids that were at IAC schools yet these hypothetical players never transferred to St. John’s.
6. SJC will only play at the beginning of the season and the IAC isn’t ready to play because they have multi sport athletes that play in the high level football league and not all year round lax players.
7. The IAC schools already win the hypothetical games. Why play?
8. IAC wants to play in June to make sure they are ready.

1. True. Don't forget the rumor mill hyping Speaks as a replacement for Urick at Prep; probably no truth to it, but it had gossip legs.
2. False. This was a one goal game. Landon hasn't scheduled SJC since the coaching change.
3. True, but think this is connected to 6 and 8.
4. True.
5. True.
6 / 8. True or a convenient excuse for all parties.
7. Love this! Pretty damn funny.

It is a huge shame SJC doesn't have any games against the IAC's best for the area. All parties involved should let bygones be bygones and play. It's frickin' high school lacorsse.

As for other SJC issue, their offense: let's see how they develop in the next year. Landon took a few years to settle into the change with Kubik is OC, and they've found rhythm now. Offensive coaching generally has more deviation in language and philosophy than defensive.

90% why they do not play is reason #6

Reason 6 is the weakest excuse of them all. GP and SJC used to be the first game of the season. All these teams scrimmage and open the season against MIAA teams. Your telling the IAC needs time to get ready to play a competitive lacrosse game? Man you guys are getting soft.

That’s the IAC excuse. They need more time to play St. John’s for some reason.

i see both sides of the argument.

ok so maybe it is true, IAC teams don't want to play the Cadets the first week of the season as a few of them have kids still competing in wrestling and ice hockey.

but why don't the Cadets want to play the Hoyas or Bears in April?

it goes both ways.

Its simple, Speaks is not well liked by area coaches.

You can believe what you want, about teams running from Military Road.

IAC schools don't seem to have an issue with playing GZ, GC, PVI or DM.

Wow - This thread is getting more love than PVI parents have for their homemade banners. SJC is like that fifty year old Hollywood actress trying to get everyone to remember what she looked like three years ago. Those players are gone and until you have a FOGO who can win at least 35-40% and a goalie who comes close to living up to his hype machine, you can strive for second place in in the WCAC and duck the real teams in the IAC. After SJC's last two offensive threats graduate this year, they will turn to their Syracuse commit to try to injure the other team's scorers while playing a mix of top tier national teams to which a loss is easily explained or third tier out of conference local teams to get stats and meaningless wins. No one in the IAC is ducking Military Road until Under Armor writes more tuition checks.

I agree Speaks is not well liked by area coaches because he's the only coach the Middle School kids will ever see at Troy Park in the Spring. If it weren't for legacy kids and all the uninformed lax parents who think SJC doesn't produce IVY league caliber student athletes there is no question which the best high school "lacrosse" program in the DMV is.

Unless anyone in this pathetic drama is a Landon or Bullis partisan, you morons are arguing over who is less mediocre this season. FFS have some dignity.

"who think...they don't produce Ivy league"? SJC has 0 Ivy Leaguers since 2021. There's a couple of IE, but that's it. There also plenty of coaches going to hoco around the region. Some show up at practices too. The beef with SJC stems almost entirely from first contact to currently enrolled students at other schools.

Agreed. Especially on an Anonymous Board! Lol

It's ok Pops, alot of kids don't get to play at the next level. I'm sure your son will have a bright future doing something other than lacrosse. SJC will be just fine!

I come to this board once a week and it’s crazy that the IAC fans are still talking about St. John’s even though they are not that good this year so they say. Must not have much to say about their conference.

Is the following true, since 2020 the only DC area teams to have beaten SJC are Gonzaga (WCAC championship 2024) and DeMatha (overtime 2025)?
