Will Whittle be around next year?

Him and his entire non-leadership team should be ashamed of themselves

It’s “he and his entire leadership team,” not “him and his team.”

Is the building sold? Was the auction delayed or canceled? The auction is not listed on the auctioneer's site.

Gonna be hard to sell.

I can’t imagine the reaction when a TOTALLY separate company, Whittle Real Estate Acquisition Corp, buys the building. They will then put the WSS into bankruptcy, bailing on their debt and owning the building.

I might be giving him way too much credit.

Everything Chris claims is designed to distract attention away from the issue in front of everyone's nose. In this instance, the fact that the school is bankrupt for all practical purposes.

Owning the building doesn't really solve anything. A large (to borrow from Chris' vernacular, "multi hundred million") loan would be required to finance the purchase even if the bank settles for less than it is owed. All that does is trade rent expense for a hefty mortgage bill. And WSS couldn't afford the rent to begin with. The math for this school has never worked and works even less so with dwindling enrollment.

I don't think they have an English department left!

My law firm is on the rocks. Clients are leaving. Lawyers are leaving.
We can't pay our bills.
But don't worry, we will be buying the building.
Go us!

How delusional can you be to think a school that can’t afford rent or even food would be able to buy a building?

I was told that a Whittle family called my child's school, Feynman School, to see if there are still openings for next year so I got curious and started reading this thread. I feel for your community. For those of you waitlisted, we are in the burbs in Montgomery County but will have transportation from NW DC/Chevy Chase/Bethesda. My child has thrived at Feynman for years. If you want to ask me anything, you can email me at sanibelgirl70@gmail.com I wish you all the best of luck.

Exactly.

CW is not delusional, he is a con man that continues to have people help him get away with what he is doing to students, families and employees that are still falling for his lies.

Chris will soon be portraying himself as a distressed asset investor. Never mind that he is the reason for the distress!

The first thing any sane person that buys the building will do is evict the tenant that caused the prior owner to be forced into foreclosure...

The building has a ton of functional issues and office leasing sucks right now, and this is a second rate location for office. They should pray that UDC buys the building.
