Then just have the race in a city that is already set up for street racing. There are a lot of downsides - noise, pollution, street closures that impact residents and businesses, safety, damage, the likelihood that taxpayers will end up footing the bill - and it’s not great racing due to the lower speeds and fewer opportunities to overtake, which means not much change in the finishing order. This is just Trump’s 12 year old Xbox-addict advisers wanting something kewl for the 250th. |
Many Americans aren't smart enough to decipher between things they should be upset with and things they shouldn't be upset with so they just get pissed about everything to cover their bases. |
| If only the Mad King cared about this country 1/4 as much as he cares about himself. |
It is insane. We don’t need Indy car races in DC. I’m glad I will out out of town that weekend. |
Or: many Americans are smart enough to pay attention and smart enough to be angry about more than one thing at a time, because everything Trump does at every scale is stupid and bad for America. He’s a fractal moron. |

It's possible, but I don't see how they could do it by the end of August. First they have to determine the layout. Then, starting in mid-to-late April they would need to have rolling shut downs of the streets so that they could resurface them. Then all of the infrastructure necessary to run a race. What are there? 30 teams plus the under cards? That's space for over one hundred semis parked for a week. Then the fan infrastructure. Then they would have to start shutting down the roads by early August with full closure of the track and surrounding areas 10 days before the race. I doubt this will happen. |
A far cry from the tall ships of 1976. |
OBVIOUSLY it's not going to happen. You remember the failed military parade? That's what the level of effort they make when they're pressed for time, don't have a historical recedent and don't actually want to implement what the President wants. |
I cannot wait to see his pathetic UFC fight in front of the White House. |
+1 Many people are indeed smart enough to realize a street course race in DC is no big deal while at the same time realizing Trump is a terrible leader. Only a complete and utter moron would get upset by a silly race and only a complete and utter moron would deny the fact that Trump is a terrible leader. This is how common sense works. |
+1 It will end up being a Boy Scout pine derby. |
This is pretty telling - Trump will sue anybody and everybody but won't sue this guy. Must be something that Trump really wouldn't want to come out in discovery. |
No, it's because no one with two neurons to rub together believes this diaper thing, for either Biden or Trump. Come on, folks. Stick to the myriad actual crimes he's done. |
