here goes the word salad again. Yay. |
It's "highness" and "know one," by the way. |

Not sure why I returned to this ridiculously long thread to read new, inane comments but here I am!
Time to end this one and start a new wedding thread… hooray for love, LOL! |
| Just read that casting is underway for Golden Bachelorette, with filming slated for summer 2024. So it should be out next fall. One of the questions for prospects asks which GB woman/women they were most attracted to and why. |

| DCUM lied to me. You had me trained that the only possible outcome was these 50 women pairing up and marrying each other. |
LOL. One great thing: I'm sure fan favorites from the OG cast will make appearances. If they succeed in casting appealing male prospects, could be great fun. Btw I think this is most likely with Leslie or Joan imo, also important that they can go to late-50s in age. Faith is lovely but her cowgirl thing has more limited appeal. How many guys are going to want to go live near her dead horse? |
HELL NO. |
I think it will be Leslie for sure. |
Agree. Already looking forward to a Kiki cameo. |

Leslie is fine with me. I'd be happy with Susan too b/c she is such a crack-up. (but realistically, it may be hard to find enough suitors for her).
The down-side to Leslie is that she wants to stay in the MN area near her grandkids. MN is not exactly where a lot of retirees want to live if they don't already have ties to the area. I know the sympathy vote goes to Leslie. But, from a production standpoint, they might be better off picking someone unknown who is willing to live in a more desirable area for retirees. I just don't know how many men are going to be willing to uproot themselves for love. The numbers are already in their favor wherever they live. |
Leslie never said she wasn't willing to move, just that she wanted to keep ties to Minneapolis too. Faith was the only totally inflexible one. Gerry and Theresa ended up with a reasonable compromise, though one that worked better for her family than his. If Leslie falls in love, I think she'll be open. I'm sure that's something the producers will be sussing out. Her work, if she wants to keep doing it, is portable and she can fly back to MN regularly. |
The question about which GB woman they were most attracted to is telling. Leslie will be far ahead of the pack. She also has many more social media followers than the other prospects as well. She has more than 3x Joan, for example. She may be emotional and have some issues, but she's more interesting to watch than most of the others too. Hopefully she'll cool it with the whininess and insecurity if she's selected. It should be empowering for her to be the one who gets to choose, which is a good hook for the show. |
| I like Ellen better, as far as personality, but I don't think she has the sex appeal to carry Golden Bachelorette. And the accent is a little grating. Faith will, what, want to ride horses and camp on her dates? Snooze. I agree it will probably be Leslie. She's sexy, vibrant, warm, and has shown she can stand her ground when it comes down to it. |

Ellen is lovely and adorable, but too old to cast enough men, and the accent bothers a lot of people.
Susan is amazing and needs her own talk show, but she's far too Jersey. Faith is just way too yee-haw and flat on camera. Joan is somehow both boring and thirsty, and while I appreciate that thin and blonde is enough to make a woman hot in many people's eyes, she really isn't. They'll never cast a black woman, we don't know enough about Edith that I can make a determination, April would be fun but is probably too weird and horny for cable. So that leaves Leslie. She has the "never gets chosen" shtick, which would make it great for her to do the choosing, she's young/hot enough to cast men as young as 50, she's okay on camera, she doesn't live somewhere that people have never heard of. I'd rather see her on DWTS personally, but if they're going to pick a a lead from this group, then she's definitely the best choice. |
