Many parents there are VERY invested in the idea that having kids at STA is fancy and ups their own status so they might not care but the alumni with kids there are really going to start. STA was an athletic powerhouse in the 90s - competitive in every sport. Pretty crazy.

It requires a completely different leadership, administration office and academic focus and buy-in. It's not happening. Landon is going through the same thing right now as they chase a higher academic profile. They fired the bball coach because he wanted a program separate from the school. GP is definitely the leader in trying to have really competitive sports and still be regarded as a very good academic school.

These coaches aren’t getting paid top dollar to coach HS lacrosse folks.

Saying someone isn't a good coach isn't a personal attack. It is stating someone's opinion on results given the talent. If someone said a coach was an f'n idiot or fat or stupid, would be a personal attack. Saying he isn't a good coach and can't get the best out of his players is fine in my view.

No one views GP as an ‘academic school’ let’s be serious but they know that and have leaned into their athletics which I very much respect. A school can’t be all things to all people and that is a good thing to realize.

GP’s matriculation would disagree.

The good news for STA is that they have two easier games coming up with Germantown and a public school from VA (Riverside). They will get back on track and be in the mix.

Please bro… take out the international boarders mainly from Asia, GPs matriculation list is fine.

Many people (locally and around the world) view Prep as an academically strong school with a long established history dating back to 1789 (235 years ago) when it was founded with Georgetown University. It has a long list of impressive and accomplished alumni. Prep is the strongest of the Catholics (besides St. Anselm's, which is a small and slightly odd school in its own world, so most don't consider it). Prep has definitely mastered the balance of strong academics and strong athletics/extracurriculars. STA may have balanced this in the 80s/90s, but no longer.

Does anyone have any links to any of todays local games?

I dont think the SJC game is going to be streamed. Usually if they are home, 1st Amendment Sports will have the stream. Gilman has their own Youtube so maybe the have it. Its greyhoundtv.org I think. Not sure if they will have it.
