Depends on the job. A Washington bureaucrat could work until they are 90 unless they first die of boredom.

A road worker a Washington bureaucracy is supposed to help might have to retire at 62 because of body damage because OSHA laws are not enforced by the bureaucracy.

So they want people to work longer, but what happens when an elderly employee is no longer able to function at the level they were — be it due to early dementia, physical issues, etc? They (Project 2025) on one hand want to fire lower-performing employees (at least in the federal government), but they also want people to work longer. You can’t have it both ways.

Then the old employees retire and the low performing employees are fired.

Would you want it any other way?

I'm really puzzled by why they put all this out there in the first place. Why tie an anchor around the neck of the guy that can help execute your plans?

They're Trump supporters. They think all patriotic Americans agree with them.

Another unforced error amongst many.

The fact that he is desperately trying to back away from this shows how unpopular Republican polices are with basically everyone.

The funny thing is that it’s so bad that Republican voters believe it has to be a Democratic hoax rather than something any rationale organization would develop and try to implement.

And that’s what they felt empowered to write down. Imagine how insane the rest of their plans are.

But they want people to continue working well past 65. So without social security and and Medicare, what’s to become of the old people you’ve “retired”? Back to cat food?

Maybe I didn’t explain myself very well. They want older people to work longer (i.e. retire later); however, issues come up with age that can affect performance (health issues could lead to more time away from work; dementia may begin; etc.). Obviously this is not with every older worker and we shouldn’t discriminate against older workers based solely on their age or health, but issues can come up more frequently with older workers that might make them less competitive than a younger worker and thus, more likely to be fired or let go. But if you keep pushing retirement age to later, you are going to leave a host of people who are vulnerable to job loss, yet unable to claim retirement benefits.

Thank goodness they put it out there for voters to decide.

+1 The far right has a long history of thinking they have majority support when they don’t.

But Trump is distancing himself or has no knowledge or whatever.

This right here. These were just the potential policies they thought would get enough support to get elected.

Dictatorships are great. They make the country safe.

I don’t think anyone believes that, not even the slow witted Republicans who post so on here.

They truly do want to destroy America and they’re so out of touch with America that they think they have the support to do it.
