WSJ: “The Heritage Foundation official who leads Project 2025, the conservative roadmap for the next Republican administration, is stepping down after former President Donald Trump and his aides publicly criticized the group and Democrats decried its proposals as radical and dangerous.”

Nice try, MAGA.
Do Trump and his minions really think no one sees right through this “stepping down”? As if that negates the whole project.

+1 and as Republicans across the country introduce legislation that does exactly what Project 2025 wants to do nationwide…

You mean their *actual* agenda? It's funny that not one of you will acknowledge this - and the fact that is is NOT Project 2025. But that's ok. We're all used to your gaslighting.

Who is gaslighting?

This is not making whatever point you think it is. The obvious move is to loudly and clearly distance himself from a project that he was not involved with and has no interest in pursuing. But sure, continue with your wacky LWNJ conspiracy theories while the rest of us just roll our eyes at you.

LWNJs like PP continue their efforts to gaslight Americans into believing 2025 is trump’s agenda or that trump is somehow behind it.

Don’t fall for it.

Wow, what a convincing attempt. Keep up the clownish work. Trump owns Project 2025.

According to what I heard, he’s saying he understands why Trump is publicly disavowing Project 2025 (it’s a political and tactical decision) but that he’s fine with Trump’s doing that because Trump is behind the scenes ok with Project 2025 and as the standard bearer will do what it takes to enact Project 2025. But that for now it has to be kept on the down low so Trump and other down ballot Rs have a chance at getting elected.

Precisely. Every one understands this.

The mystery is why republicans are pretending they don’t support project 2025. Another poster observed that elements of it are already being implemented in gop states which is absolutely true. The gaslighting is just not going to gain traction any more.

Did no one in the gop read Peter and the wolf??

+1

It’s just like Youngkin secretly admitting that he’d “go on the offense” to take away women’s right AFTER the election but couldn’t talk about during the campaign because he needed the Independent voters.

Speaking of taking away women’s rights, pregnant women won’t have the right to cancer treatment.

That's horrific. No wonder Trump is trying to run away from this in order to get elected.

Wow. Republicans really do hate women.

I’m glad you see it. Their vituperative hate is almost palpable.

It’s so strange to me that they won’t own it- MAGAs in name only? My conservative ILs have said project 2025 is “the dream”- which of course makes me want to gag but I appreciate they’re at least honest about it.

Trump may as well own his Project 2025 platform instead of cowardly running from it.

Trump still sinking in the polls. Running away isn't helping.

He’s probably going to continue to sink. He is, in fact, very old and very weird and supports Project 2025. The overlaps between it, Agenda 47 and what the GOP is already trying to do show that it’s basically the same agenda. He can’t run much further away. Obviously for the true believing Republicans on this thread they’re in the tank and will lie as needed, but for more easily spooked Republicans? They won’t support a guy who won’t get their freak agenda through.

What though? Isn’t most of the stuff in there what they’ve been clamoring for?

Old man Trump and his henchmen are counting the days until they can bring about Project 2025 and end American democracy.

Depends on the job. A Washington bureaucrat could work until they are 90 unless they first die of boredom.

A road worker a Washington bureaucracy is supposed to help might have to retire at 62 because of body damage because OSHA laws are not enforced by the bureaucracy.

So they want people to work longer, but what happens when an elderly employee is no longer able to function at the level they were — be it due to early dementia, physical issues, etc? They (Project 2025) on one hand want to fire lower-performing employees (at least in the federal government), but they also want people to work longer. You can’t have it both ways.
