That was my impression too when I listened to today’s Morning Joe podcast. Beyond needing to be sensitive and measured, I think they’re cowed and afraid to talk about the less positive aspects of CK. People are already being threatened by govt officials for saying anything that gives the impression they are happy about CK’s death and several people have been fired.

If I were a journalist or politician I would be terrified right now. I don’t blame them.

You are not allowed to criticize Kirk here. The reality is that he was a divisive figure but anything close to pointing that out gets deleted.

This website has a longstanding rule that we are not allowed to say anything negative about a person after they die for 48 hours. This is not new.

Why is Charlie Kirk's body being flown on Air Force II with a Vice Presidential escort? That's taxpayer money. The more over the top this becomes the more I think Trump had him eliminated. It's a distraction from the Epstein files and I think Kirk called for the release of the files.

This is absurd. Charlie Kirk never pulled any punches. We are dishonoring his memory by treating him with kid gloves and pretending he didn't say racist and provocative things constantly. Stop canceling him in his death.

For a very long time we have had a "48 hour" rule that prohibits negative posts about a person for the first 48 hours after their death. Tomorrow you can bash Kirk to your heart's content. Today you have to be polite.

He's right.

Federal law enforcement has designated right-wing violence as the most pressing domestic terror threat.

This is simply a fact. The assassination of Kirk doesn't change that.

Where is your fact coming from? Out of curiosity, I looked to see if the federal government has said this. I didn't find anything supporting your fact. Rather, this Homeland Security report from 2025 identifies Domestic Violent Extremists as the primary threat, and defines them to be individuals motivated by various ideologies (emphasis added):

A Domestic Violent Extremist (DVE) is an individual based and operating primarily within the United States or its territories without direction or inspiration from a foreign terrorist group or other foreign power who seeks to further political or social goals wholly or in part through unlawful acts of force or violence. The mere advocacy of political or social positions, political activism, use of strong rhetoric, or generalized philosophic embrace of violent tactics alone does not constitute violent extremism and may be constitutionally protected. DVEs can fit within one or multiple categories of ideological motivation and can span a broad range of groups or movements. I&A utilizes this term synonymously with “domestic terrorist.”

"New York, NY, February 21, 2025 … For the third year in a row, murders in the United States connected to extremism have declined, according to new data from ADL (the Anti-Defamation League). Domestic extremists were involved in the killing of at least 13 people in 2024, a significant drop from the 20 extremist-related murders in 2023.""

I thought this picture was a trans man??? This looks like your average white cis-man
Trans women, when they wear men’s clothing and cut their hair short tend to look just like cis men.
Nope. Not just the same. They have hips. This guy has no hips.
All trans women have hips? Wtf?

There are tons of trans women who don’t have hips.
Dude clearly has an Adam’s apple.
Yes, this is a cis-man.

Yes it is sickening watch MSNBC spin him in to a hero of the constitution.

You think Kirk was divisive because you don’t agree with his views. Simply having different views doesn’t make someone divisive.

Every American is allowed to have their own views and opinions.

Do you label everyone who has views that aren’t exactly the same as democrats divisive?

Stop.

Just stop.

Being divisive was his gig.

He said and implied horrible things. Divisive things.

Remember when he said that Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson was only there because she was a diversity hire, and he had to be reminded that he dropped out of community college?

Still, he certainly didn’t deserve to die, but people are getting tired of the whitewashing of his past.

The more I learn about him the more I realize that he was just kind of a shock jock.

The FBI indicated that right wing white nationalist groups were a bigger threat to the US than Islamic terrorists, but Trump didn't like that because he knows that that is his base, so he made the FBI remove it.

Do you think Charlie Kirk would retract his pro-gun beliefs if he knew he was going to die?
