Why do some DCUM posters feel they need to be catty, sarcastic or rude with their responses?

It's so sad to me. Often there is a great exchange in information and great discussions. But why do some of you feel you need to be nasty?

It's anonymous, and it's part of the culture here. I remember being kind of astounded when I was first reading DCUM.

I think that it is indicative of they hyper-competitive, elitist people in this area. There seems to be a strong desire to one-up everyone to feed one's own ego. Unfortunately, this behavior seems to be a part of forum culture in general. I can only hope that people aren't this nasty in real life. I see a lot of mean girls grown up.

Such is life. Not every person you encounter has a super sweet personality and frankly, just like you want to know why people come to DCUM with catty, rude, & sarcastic responses I would like to know why people ask questions that are just not meant for an anonymous forum. Some questions deserve snark & a dumb response.

Is every person you work with perfectly polite? I'm sure they are not.

Is every person in your family wonderfully pleasant to be around? I am certain the answer is no.

NP here. I posted on the other thread about the guy who uses the same phrases. I would be curious how many useful things he actually posts. Probably none. I think we should give people one warning then ban them if they are so toxic. DCUM is getting a bad reputation.

Why can't everyone be nice?

Because the world isn't nice. It is a harsh, brutal and uncompromising place.

As to what I teach my children, I teach them to be strong and independent. I teach them to fight and to hunt. I teach them to kill or be killed. The way things are going, you are going to have the 1 percent that rule, and the 99 percent reduced to the status of jerk-booth cleaners. And I am going to make sure as hell my kids die on their golden toilets with share certificates clutched in their hands, not mops. And if that offends you, little lady, you better toughen up your titties and strap on your seatbelt, cause we are heading for a wild ride.
