There is a little confusion. The majority of the 2014W team did not play on 2014S last year. How awful for those girls.

t was the 2011 girls top team that all left and went to SYC, right?

I really hope people are letting leadership know what is going on before they all quit. This contributes to this cycle continuing. Parents all complaining to each other but not saying anything to anyone that matters. It's easy to say the club doesn't care, but are they really aware? I raised this up and was told that I'm the only one that has an issue. I know this isn't true but if no one else is brave enough to say anything that's what they are going to believe.

What do you think they thought would happen when they hire unqualified parent coaches and other last-minute scrubs to coach their bottom tier teams? They don't care about those kids and they don't care if you stay or leave next year, because they will just replace them with another crop of rec-level players/marks.

It is SOP to tell parents who complain that they are the only ones with the issue. Usually, its a lie.

Yes, almost the entire team bailed.

Looks like the club did quite well with their recent tournaments. They must be doing something right .

In different directions, only a little more than a handful are at SYC.

If you are someone from Valor trying to make the club look better, please just stop. A lot of the teams were at the Williamsburg tournament which isn't exactly a high level tournament. I don't care that my kid's team can go beat some teams from much smaller areas or in a lower bracket than they should be in. I care what happens when we go up against other teams in this area that are supposedly on the same level. Time and time again those teams look like they know what they're doing while our kids look unprepared. Stop patting yourselves on the back and figure it out. Or, keep doing what you're doing and lose many of your best players.

Says the Valor admin responsible for media month….
Just get with coach and talk with him so we don’t have to hear him lite up his daughter on the field for another 8 months. Is that to much to ask?

If your player get an offer from a valor team--especially a low level team--get it in writing that it will be a non-parent coach before you accept.

Really, you shouldn't have to do that because literally people leave rec for travel to get away from parent coaches and hey! you are paying $3000 but Valor tries to screw everyone over all the time.

The thing is even if it is a paid coach with a decent resume it can still go bad. Last year our girls got a great coach on paper. In real life he was terrible. He missed games, practices, would cancel practice for no reason and in general did NOTHING with the girls at practice if he was to show up. We ended up having 7ish players leave the team It was bad.

This year we have a paid coach who has great intentions and he is doing his best.

Valor in general does NOT care about making your kid better, They only care about money. This works for us because our kid likes soccer but doesnt LOVE it. Location is great for games and practice. It is just something for them to do. IF your kid is serious about soccer it is not a secret to stay away from VALOR. We will probably keep losing kids over the years since the club cannot keep the kids that want to get better engaged.

We also had a kid on another team and at tryouts we were told who the coach would be. That august the coach decided to do something else and left us coachless. Our other kid LOVES soccer so we moved them but I would assume everyone is now aware that valor is just an expensive rec league. This should not be a surprise.

Is there a most moved to club where Valor players move to?

Maybe not the majority, but practically all of last years 2014S who stayed with Valor are now 2014W. 2014W also has some (not sure how many) from last years 2014B and the rest are new to the club.

i used to think all the kvetching about VALOR was just disgruntled parents of weak players. my son had a great coach for his first two years at valor. then they moved his coach to another age group and we got a young guy who is really inexperienced and a screamer-is racking up cards. old coach used to get all the kids in the game at least for a few minutes. young guy took too many players on the roster and barely plays the second half. morale is terrible and the boys aren't getting along as well. parents are pissed.

Of all the dozens and dozens and dozens of local soccer clubs, valor is consistently the one with by far the most complaints. cannot imagine how skeavy the guys who run it must be.

OH MY GOD SO CRINGEY. Yes, they sent their highest level teams to beat some rec+ teams and play other Valor teams at basically a rec tournament. Go away, Valor marketing person. You are making Valor look even worse.
