My son is not trying to play PLL.

Georgetown Prep has the highest number of lacrosse college commits year after year. Excellent academics and top athletics, it's a combination that college coaches/recruiters find very attractive. They recognize a Prep grad will succeed in the classroom and on the field in college.

Thanks Prep dad.

What do you work in prep admissions?

It depends on the year, but historically it has been the same cast of schools populate the Ivy's and Top 10 D1 programs, which ofter align with top tier academics.

Ivy rosters don't tell the full story, as the cancellation of the season for COVID led to many transfers, graduate and other wise, but again, its the same schools...top half of IAC and WCAC. Selecting between those schools really comes down to the best fit for DS.

Harvard: Gonzaga, SJC
Princeton: Gonzaga
Yale: St Albans
UPenn: Prep, Bullis
Cornell: Potomac
Dartmouth: PVI, Prep, Landon

UVA: Episcopal, SSSA, Prep
Duke: Dematha, Prep, PVI, Bullis
Carolina: SSSA, Prep, Gonzaga
Georgetown: SJC, Bullis, Prep
ND: Prep
Hop: Gonzaga, Dematha, PVI, Landon Bullis
Terps: Landon, PVI

While lacking in scholarship opportunities, lacrosse does provide opportunity for a high quality education.

I know last year alone, Landon sent one it’s players to Yale, one to PENN and one to Amherst.

The 2020 and 2021 classes Bullis has sent 8 players to NESCAC (3) or Ivy (5).

Don't forget Bullis has 2022's going to Princeton and Harvard.

I’d be curious to see a 5 year window

Go to Bullis if you need your grades inflated to get into an Ivy. Some will see this as a knock on Bullis. Others will see it as a reason to go there.

Heck yeah. As long you can score above a 32 on the ACT, have at it. High GPA w that ACT score and you can play, and the world is your oyster! High GPA w low ACT/SAT, then no bueno.

All Ivies are test optional. So not exactly.

From a ten year perspective, Landon and GP have probably put more lacrosse players into Ivy League and NESCAC schools than any program in the area.

Have the rules around AI changed?

AI calculations change slightly from year to year but they are still in place at the Ivy schools. Acceptance to an Ivy is an outstanding accomplishment and congrats to all that earned the distinction.

This is true. That said, those school probably have more lax player academically qualified for Ivies than many (but not all) comparable school.

That said, remember recruiting is driven by club performance and performance at camps/prospect days. A good player at a A division IAA school playing on a top club will have opportunities
