Stop hating on gifted kids.

I don't think the 130s are gifted. I think 140+ is really gifted but that's not AAP. AAP is advanced. Gifted kids need a different program.

They do need a different program, but they ain’t gonna get it, because people who think you can prep into giftedness are fighting so hard for the sake of equity.

You are really thick!

Where did you read that only gifted kids like science, and non gifted kids do drugs???

It said that as long as my kid is learning good things, I’m ok with that friendship, but interests, personalities and ability will drive friendships.

And you are also ignorant. In the science example, liking science is not enough. It’s how much you understand it and how deep you’ve gone into it. If one kid is in full understanding of quantum physics, she can’t meaningfully talk science to someone who’s just learning that the periodic table exists. It’s like talking to you right now! Fruitless!

It's because you're too close so you can't see it.

I'd say that someday you may realize that but if you already have kids in upper elementary, you should be old enough to know this by now. Although there are lots of posters on this forum and this thread that don't, so you seem to be in good company.

I have a gifted kid in that range and I know what PP is saying. When I think of “gifted”, I think of prodigies, which are truly exceptional in their intelligence. The difference between a 130 and 155+ IQ is really noticeable to me.

You sound like a real jerk.

Here we are debating 10IQ points that your kids might have, yet you are not gifted enough yourself to figure out that you are completely antisocial.

Because you call me antisocial if doesn’t make it so, and I know it.

It’s my job as a parent to fight for my kid, not to kiss up to some moron like you.

My thread did something positive: you admired feeling hate, and directed it away from the children and onto their parents! You don’t need a psychiatrist to manage your hate anymore.

Yo, how about you invest in some social skill classes?

You are either a troll or so insecure that you have to lash out and call people names because you feel easily threatened. If you are so intelligent, why not use logic (you are failing miserably) to make your points instead of insulting others?
