This is not a joke.

It’s an admission of guilt. I don’t mean legally - I know uck all about the law - but just in general. It’s like when Eric Trump pled the fifth a hundred and fifty times in one interview about 1/6; it just screams “absolutely I did all that!”

The only problem with his lawyer's argument is that this amnesty was due to a law passed by Congress very specific to participants in the Confederacy. That law doesn't extend to the January 6th insurrectionists.

“A formal effort to evaluate whether North Carolina Rep. Madison Cawthorn should be disqualified as a candidate because of his involvement in the January 2021 rally that preceded the U.S. Capitol riot should be allowed to continue, voters and election officials told a federal judge.

Nearly a dozen North Carolina voters had filed a candidate challenge last month against the first-term Republican. On Monday, attorneys for the voters and the State Board of Elections turned in court filings arguing that Cawthorn’s motion to cancel the challenge process be rejected.”

There’s the actual spirit of patriotism that this country needs. We don’t need traitors in office “representing” us.

Does anyone really expect any different from this little treason twerp? Sexual assaulter, monumentally bad judgement in driving and a number of other areas… he’s just not fit for governmental service. He reads like a paid actor.

Good, very good. The party loves him b/c he brings in tons of $$, his district is Asheville but also MAGA outside the city. He might get primaried but doubt anyone can match his funding/reach. Says a lot about Americans, much not nice.

Didn't he get redistricted? My mom is in his current district outside of Asheville and she's been saying for a while he won't be her representative anymore because they redid the boundary maps.

Cawthorn chose a new district - he wants to run in an even redder district.

He, Boebert, Fist Pump Hawley, Marjorie Middlename Green(e?), Gohmert and Gosar are like a plague of stupidity meant to shame the globe. They’re that incredibly stupid that, assuming some sort of alien species’ existences, we’d be shamed.

Of course they’re plenty stupid here on planet earth, too. Doesn’t stop cult Republicans from voting for them.
