I wasn't aware that the 06 team is the 07 and 08 team too. Interesting point you make.

a girl who has not been part of a known club or had been trained properly within the window of U9-U12 is a long shot.

maybe this type of player could find a spot on a travel team but a DA team? you really think so?

What the hell is even your point? They are holding ID sessions in MD in conjunction with their Potomac partnership. Kids from other clubs will attend. SOme from big and some from small clubs. I really don't understand what your point even is. For 08s they could have a Reston based ID where GFR and other kids go, a Tysons that could draw Stoddert, GFR and kids from other clubs and they could have a session in MD that could draw from Potomac and other clubs.

If you pick 4 kids from the 3 partner clubs for 08s each that is 12 kids. If each ID session brings 10 outside kids each of which 2 per location are worth adding that is 6 kids for 18 players.

The outside kids could very well be from non affiliated clubs too regardless of the club they come from.

We bring our DD's to check out MU even though they lost every game last season because everyone has to start somewhere. It's not a life time commitment either if they were to get an offer.

It isn't hard to believe when you consider the lack of any feeder program that provided a reasonable core group of players. The 06, not unlike the other Metro teams, started from scratch.

A Metro 07 team should be better but the benefit of having a core group of players from a feeder program will begin to show itself at 08 and should be much improved by 09.

07 and older kids were all mostly in their destination clubs well before they were of DA or ECNL age. They were then able to add outside talent on top of established core players.

You got problems. Serious problems. I'd say that if you were a player. But for a parent to gloat over the woes suffered by a bunch of 13 year olds. Absolutely disgraceful. Pick on somebody your own age and size. Finding somebody with a comparable IQ may be challenging, so we'll leave it at age and size.

Big deal. This is youth soccer. One of the other DA or ECNL u14 teams in the area will blowup and their players will move to Metro. These teams are all about the top 2-4 players. If your DD is one of those kids ...great brag away. If your DD is one of the rest of the team, the club really does not care if you stay or go. Big physical and fast players are a dime a dozen in DA/ECNL.

27 players rostered, nobody has a goal.

Metro is having an ID session in DC so why would a Stoddert player attend a Tysons ID session? There will be girls from outside of those affiliated clubs. I know girls who drive past Metro practice fields to practice at Loudon and Arlington. Maybe they can cut their commute time from 45 minutes to 15 minutes. Also the second team girls at a place like Arlington know only the first 08’s will be considered for Arlington DA. Sometimes it depends on what position you play. If a position is stacked or has one very good girl ahead of you, it’s time to move clubs. So yes players will come from outside the clubs. This is a good thing.
