Oh, this will be fun. Adult or kid bedroom? I'll do a little of both.

I adore this wallpaper. Anybody know how to source it?

EyeCandy here. It’s Raphael from the Sandberg collection by Scalamandre, the dark blue color way. https://www.scalamandre.com/brands/sandberg.html

Great thread! We are about to build a 550 square foot apartment on our garage for our young adult sons to stay in when they are home. I want something very modern and masculine. Any ideas?

EyeCandy here. I would love to look for design inspiration if people post colors, materials, or a design style they’d like to see.

I don’t think I’ll be able to help with space planning or renovation. That’s probably best for someone who can visit your spaces in person.

I think you have to use furniture to define the first few feet as your entrance.

You can also use the furniture in your main living area to designate the space by the door as a runway.

OP - thank you! Such a fun thread to read!

Best thread ever! If you ever decided to turn precise curation of design ideas into a business, I bet it would be super successful (and then you sell it to Houzz...) What about photos of warm white or ivory kitchen cabinets? Perhaps with a bit of a glaze for contrast.

I love your sense of design. What about kitchens with white oak cabinets?

Ideas of how to use natural materials for an outdoor feel, wood, stone, etc. without making the room feel too heavy (particularly a small room with lots of big windows).

Before I move to the new request, this is for the person asking about updating a McMansion. These are just two spaces in a McMansion-looking home in the December/January issue of Southern Home. The house was full of columns, double-height rooms, and tray ceilings. The article doesn't give a designer or architect name, just two photographers. They only interview the homeowner.

Tell me more! Stone floors? Stone walls?

Lauren Liess uses a lot of natural materials and I think her rooms always feel light.
