Hi Eye Candy - so grateful for you!
I'd like to improve my home office work space. It's the first room next to my front door - really a small library space, with floor to ceiling built ins shelves on one wall and a big window on another wall. Might you have any inspiration photos of a home office set in a library? Thank you! |
Not knowing your style, I'm going for a mix and hoping something is inspiring! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
Eye Candy, you are a wizard!!
If you have time, I'd love to see interiors of Craftman-ISH houses with lots of oak (trim, cabinets, doors, etc.). I've seen interiors with a lot of green, but I'd love to see examples of other colors in the dominant scheme (cream? deep reds? navy?? grey??). |
Eye Candy, this is possibly the most perfect room I’ve ever seen. What search terms would you use to find more rooms in this style? |
Thank you Eye Candy! I am the “home office in a library” poster and these are inspiring! |
Hello! Any suggestions/inspiration for a console table in front of a window? I’ve always felt like a table looks a little misplaced when it sits in front of a window (not under the sil).
We have a large set of windows in our home office that face the front of our home - directly next to the front door so you see straight in. They are only about 2’ from the floor and I’ve been considering a bench there to place some of my houseplants (I’ve become quite the plant lady during COVID and that room gets great sunlight) but would consider a console table if I can find the right styling. I am having a hard time envisioning it or searching for it. Thank you! |
Dear eye candy: can you post some fireplace/mantle inspiration pics? Specifically around a linear gas ventless fireplace and a floating wood shelf as your mantle look.
Tia!! |
Hey. EC:
Would love some inspo pics for renovates 1920s kitchen and LR, keeping the flavor of the era without being stuffy or granny-looking |
Oh, yes, I have the same kitchen issue. 1928, smallish, quite charming now with black and white tile and wood cabinets. But full renovation, I'm not sure what direction to go. |
What does keeping the flavor of the era mean to you? They had ice boxes and pie safes in the 1920s. |
I'm the second PP, clearly that's getting too literal. Ours already lost all those things, but has slightly shallow counters with tall cabinets above (glass door), and black and white tile. It's easy to see it as quaint and precious today, but it was sleek and moderne in it's time. I'd like to bring the efficiency and geometry out somehow. Previous owner put in a hidden tall fridge, and mostly kept the look of the counters and cabinets. Mostly I need a new stove, but all the surfaces, floor/counters, are due for replacement. |

I don't see many professionally designed spaces with floating mantles. There was one in my house and I removed it because I didn't know what to do with it myself! ![]() ![]() ![]() |
