She was just trying to do the best she could for her kids.

You're just jealous that you can't afford to do the same.

Wow you either are a huge moron OR you did the very thing she'a accused of yourself. Sad, doubt anyone is jealous of what she did and her predicament. Futhermoret to imply that implies that you think most people are inherently dishonest and criminal. Sorry that is not the case.

NP...Actually, there was a thread in Off Topics with parents saying they would do the same thing if they had the money. You are very much living with rose colored glasses on.

Actually I'm the OP of that thread and I'm the only one who said I would do the same. I was roundly criticized by everyone else.

Umm...I don’t believe you’re the OP of that thread or you didn’t read every response. There were several other posters who said they would have no problem doing the same thing.

this thread does a pretty good job showing the wide range of public opinion on this

Yes. I really am. And it's possible there were some responses along those lines before I signed out. But the most supportive I recall were people saying it wasn't much different from donating a large sum of money from the school. I don't remember anyone else flat out saying they would do it as well.

Several flat out said it...I didn’t even have to go 4 pages into the thread.

Lori is a crook and so is her lying husband, hope an example will be made of them and they both go to jail, would be great if their entitled brats aka children could go with them for a nice healthy reality check

Felicity Huffman pled guilty and issued a (seemingly) heartfelt apology statement. It's being said she'll serve 3 or 4 months in jail. Because Loughlin and her hubby's crimes involved far more money, they are being told to accept 2 years in prison as part of a plea deal or have more charges added and go to trial. Nice to see rich white people actually not skating for a change.

Wow you are pretty mean. I think Lori and her husband has been through enough. I think a big fine and community service are in order but making a long sentence because someone doesn’t like white people is wrong. My guess is she got manipulated and made a horrible decision and maybe even deluded herself that she was giving to a charity. It’s bad for sure but seeing in the news 29 years a possibility is not what we use the criminal justice system for. I think Felicity Hiffman’s plea is fine but just because less money doesn’t make it any better. Having someone take a test is very serious than pretending to be an athlete. Both the We yams should be the same.

You cannot seriously believe she was manipulated after reading about their calls with Singer and their storming in on the guidance counselor who was suspicious of the crew recruit aspect. Add her lack of remorse while parading in to the courthouse signing autographs and there is no way she DOESN'T deserve this.

NP here, I’m white and find your cognitive dissonance alarming. There is no indication of her being manipulated whatsoever. There are many indications that she did this deliberately. She broke the law and should serve a reasonable sentence. Two years is within that realm. All the apologists saying this isn’t that bad when she intentionally paid bribes and committed fraud - makes me wonder what you do stand for.

Jared Kushner's dad bribed him into Harvard and NYU Law School and now he's the most powerful man in the nation. Yet we're supposed to care about some teen bimbo few have ever heard who was maybe going to get a communications degree from USC? Give me a break. This is all a distraction from real rigging and fraud, which is 1000x worse in scale.

+1 Her husband also bullied a guidance counselor who pointed out that neither girl had ever been seen rowing crew. This isn't a thoughtless plan. They knew they were committing fraud.

Yes and if there were an easy way to prove that he bribed his way in we would love to see him prosecuted and punished for that. Unfortunately, he didn't make it as obvious as LL and her husband did so we have to deal with punishing the more blatant criminals that left clear evidence. Just because someone is less famous doesn't mean they shouldn't be punished for the same crime!

Trump's father bribed Trump's way into Penn. Trump bribed Ivanka and the son's way into Penn. Tiffany may have gotten in on her own merit. The rich and famous have been doing this for years and will continue to do it.
