Cohen Testifying

I think Cohen's an ass...but he's effective today. The caged bird is singing.

Did Mueller start the investigation on Cohen, or he was already under investigation by SDNY before Mueller?

I think Mueller discovered things about Cohen that were more appropriately the jurisdiction of SDNY, so he kicked it to them.

So SDNY never bothered to investigate Cohen's taxi medallion business all these years until Mueller came long? Same with Manafort -- his tax and bank fraud issues were never looked into by the government until he was associated with Trump campaign.

This is sad. The "justice" system is a joke.

Cohen has one purpose and one purpose only today, to reduce his sentence. If he gets one month less, today's show is worth it.

The Republicans have no game plan here other than calling him a liar, do they? Sad.

The only way he can reduce his sentence is to tell the truth. If he lies at all, his cooperation agreement evaporates.

Using your logic, everything he has said must be true.

And if they agree that he lied during his previous testimony then that means they think he lied to cover for Trump's wrongdoing and his dealings with Russia.

That is to tell the version of "truth" that SDNY wants to hear.

They seem to forget that Trump is a world renowned liar.

Glad you asked.

Scientific American actually conducted a study of the impact of Trump's rhetoric on incidents of hate crimes against Muslims:
https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/do-trump-tweets-spur-hate-crimes1/

"First, they documented that the number of anti-Muslim hate crimes recorded by the FBI increased during Trump’s presidency. In fact, anti-Muslim crimes have been more prevalent under Trump compared to any other previous president, including George W. Bush following 9/11. Second, the researchers found strong statistical correlations between the number of Islam-related tweets made by Trump in a single week and the number of anti-Muslim hate crimes that took place in the days and weeks that followed. "

So the great thing is that as hard as repubs try to make Cohen out as a liar and a sleaze (which I’m not going to deny) they’re just confirming how terrible Trump’s hiring instincts are. Or showing that like attracts like.

Why does Trump hire so many liars, crooks, and conmen? Answer me this Republicans. Either he’s stupid or he’s crooked. Has to be one of the other. No one honest and smart would hire the likes of Cohen, Manafort, etc.

They KNOW he lied to cover up Trump's lies about his dealings with Russia.

That's exactly why they are sweating bullets.

I know! I keep waiting for one of the Dema to point out the hypocrisy of the Republican members who have their panties in a bunch over lying.

They clearly haven't thought through their plan of attack.

Because then they'd be traitors to the R party.

Better to be a traitor to your party (think your high school football team) than your country (think family). !

dp.. based on everything that is going on, Rs are showing they are a traitor to their country, as well.
